This is because the original story (the cover art) has only one illustration and a short title. Even so, the ingenuity of making the reader understand the story in a single page of illustration is excellent.

2025-03-01 00:43:05 +0000 UTCWhile the AI narration on the video you watched didn't say it outright, the final title card of the Miss Goldenweek cover stories directly says they were "sentenced to incarceration in the great prison Impel Down". People will occasionally complain that Oda never kills off his characters, but I think he just doesn't want to waste such great personalities. With a story like One Piece, you never know when you might want to bring them back!
