Stock Ender 3 V2 with REVO CR hot end? The confusion with me is seeing the hot end being supported from the list of 46+ supported hotness, but not seeing this in the hot end files? Does that mean I just need to use the Creality OEM - CR10s-Ender3-5 2 screw mount? Or is there another I should be looking at?

Tom Quinn

Ender 3, no suffix. Thank you for replying and the clarification. I managed to get it to work with the ender 3 pro gantry adapter.

Geoffrey Lim

Is the Printer mods plate actually marked as V1.3? Also which exact model of Ender 3 do you have ( there are at least 8 (Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro, Ender 3X, Ender 3 V2, Ender 3 Neo, Ender 3 V2 Neo, Ender 3 Max, and Ender 3 Max Neo). With this info I can get you the STL you need. Note, my Ender 3 V Wheel X Carriage is not an adapter, it is an X Carriage replacemt (like the PrinterMods).

Andrew Soderberg

I just read through one of the other questions and saw the gantry adapter for Ender 3 stock is the 'Ender 3-Pro Gantry Adapter'. Now I have to undo my wiring, reassemble my printer, print the part, and then disassemble everything again. While I appreciate the work that went into creating this sytem, if you are effectively charging people for documentation, the documentation should be clear and easy to understand. Even with the documentation, it amounts to guesswork when the naming of the files is unclear - and I could have done that for free.

Geoffrey Lim

Hi, I have an Ender 3 with MDD kit so I printed the 'PrinterMods V1.3 Gantry adapter' and 'V1.3 Ender 3 Gantry Clip', but the holes don't line up with the MDD gantry plate (when I line up the protruding hotend mounting holes, the other 2 holes are off by a few mm). I even swapped back to my Ender 3 stock gantry plate and printed 'Ender 3 V Wheel X Carriage' gantry adapter and 'Ender 3 Series' gantry clip, but the holes on that don't fit the stock gantry plate either no matter how I orient the adapter. My printer is now disassembled but I can't attach the Hero Me duct to the gantry at all. Why don't any of the gantry adapters fit??

Geoffrey Lim

Thank you!

Avram Stanton

Hehehe now they give it a proper name... That is the Creality Spider Speedy Ceramic hotend. That is in the Hotend folder called: HMG7.3 Creality Spider Speedy Ceramic Mount.stl Upon looking I see that a I did not include the Skirt for this hotend. Here is aDropBox link to the two STLs (now renamed): https://www.dropbox.com/s/0a8fxcivp25fp6u/HMG7.3%20Spider%204%20Pro.zip?dl=0

Andrew Soderberg

Greetings! First off, thank you for the hard work in creating such a versatile solution. Second, and more to the reason I'm reaching out, are there plans to create a hot end adapter for the Creality Spider 4.0 Pro? Or would the 3.0 Pro version work?

Avram Stanton

What strain gauge? The Ender 3 V2 does not have a strain gauge. Send pictures of your x carriage assembly to me here: MediaMan3D@gmail.com put 'Hero Me Gen7 Support' in the subject.

Andrew Soderberg

I am sorry for the delayed response, I am working down a backlog of several hundred questions and requests. The Gantry Adapter for the Ender 3 is: HMG7 Ender 3-Pro Gantry Adapter.stl (the 3 and 3 Pro are identical) and HMG7 Ender 3 Series Gantry Clip.stl

Andrew Soderberg

The stock hotend mount is: HMG7 Creality OEM-CR10S-Ender3-5 Mount.stl and the Skirt is: HMG7 Creality OEM-CR10S-Ender3-5 Skirt V2.stl There is no Bowden tube mount as the PTFE tube goes directly into the PC4-M10 Pneumatic PTFE connector on the top of the hotend.

Andrew Soderberg

A Google sheets configurator was created by a Hero Me user for the Gen5 a couple years ago. It was not mine, and they never kept it updated.

Andrew Soderberg

Is there no configurator spreadsheet as there was for previous versions?

Faaiz Ajaz

I have printed out the parts listed but I'm not sure how they would interact with the strain gauge. I may be doing something wrong so any help would be appreciated!

David Londono

I have found the hot end mount and skirt. are there any standoffs. The work everyone has done on this project is incredible by the way.

Foleysshop

MediaMan, I have gone through the documentation on the GEN7, I have found some parts but have not found Hot End, skirt, and bowden tube mount for an ender 3 v2 stock creality set up. would appreciate the help. thankyou

Foleysshop

Hi MediaMan, Any thought on my query? Many thanks.

Dave Stubbs

Hi Mediaman, thanks for your great work. I've just finished printing all the parts for the Ender 3 (not v2) but can't figure out the gantry adapter. I printed the HMG7 Ender 3 V Wheel X Carriage, but it appears I have to disassemble the whole carrage and remove the v-wheels. Is that correct? Many thanks.

Dave Stubbs

The Hotend mount for the Spider 3 Pro is: HMG7.2 Creality Spider 3 Pro Mount V2.stl OR HMG7.2 Creality Spider 3 Pro PC4M10 Mount V2.stl plus the skirt of the bottom of the Base: HMG7 Creality Spider 350-3 Pro Skirt V2.stl

Andrew Soderberg

I can't figure out what to use for the new spider 3.0 on my Ender 3 V2 for mount or bottom plate. I tried the OEM mount, but it doesn't fit well I had to modify too much, and it was very wobbly.

Anthony Bucci

I was having the same issue with the inserts on the base that are used to screw on the gantry adapter. It looks like the screws I was using (M3x8mm) are too long, so as the screw tightens, it pushes the insert out of the hole. I guess I'm going to have to get some shorter M3 screws and try to salvage what I have left of a base

livingindoubt

I’ll have to double check thin walls setting. Dimensions are 4.6mm OD,

James Mellinger

What are the spec dimensions of the inserts you are using? The Hero Me spec is M3 tapered inserts with 4.6mm outer diameter by 4mm length. What filament is the Base printed in? Also, did you have detect thin walls turned on in your slicer? Before inserting the threaded inserts the diameter of the printed hole should be between 4.1mm and 4.3mm in diameter. Any larger and the inserts won't be held properly.

Andrew Soderberg

Having issues with my Insail heat set inserts pulling out easily on the part of the base where the fan ducts connect.

James Mellinger

Very excited to put some Hero Me Gen7s on my ender 3 pros, but I’m a bit confused about what to print. I have 3 stock Ender 3 pros, and an Ender 3 pro I’d like to put my spare Microswiss all metal hotend on, and use my dual gear extruder, and pancake stepper in a DD configuration. My apologies in advance if I asked in the wrong place. I’m new to patreon, and discord. Happy to support such an awesome project, and thanks for everything you have done for the 3D print community

James Mellinger

I am sorry but integrated extruder/hotends including the Sprite on the Ender 3 S1 (and other Creality printers, along with the Micro Swiss NG, BIQU H2, Titan Aero, E3D Hemera, and the Bondtech LGX Shortcut), are not compatible with the current Hero Me design architecture (including Gen7). They are all too large, too wide, to fit into a Hero Me Base. The Hero Me was designed before these integrated extruder/hotend combos were developed. To make a Hero Me fit these assemblies it would no longer be a Hero Me as it would not be compatible with any of the hundreds of parts from both my Master Suite and the over 650 remixes and add-ons created by the community. The only way the Hero Me Gen7 can support the Ender 3 S1 is if you wanted to completely replace the stock S1 Sprite extruder/hotend with any of the popular 3rd party extruders and hotends. On a more positive note, I have partnered with another 3D designer/ mechanical engineer to develop Hero Me based part cooling ducts with ABL mounts for the Creality Sprite S1 and the others listed above. We’re a couple months away from having them ready.

Andrew Soderberg

Hello Sir I hate to repeat a question about the integrated extruder/ hotend but I noticed that a few months back the Creality Sprite Direct Drive Extruder was mentioned but not in the most recent post is this one of the ones you will be working on. thank you

Aldo fernandez

I am sorry but integrated extruder/hotends including like the E3D Hemera (along with the Micro Swiss NG, Titan Aero, Bondtech LGX Shortcut , and the BIQU H2), are not compatible with the current Hero Me design architecture (including Gen7). We’re a couple months away from having them ready.

Andrew Soderberg

Is the E3D RapidChange Revo Hemera Dual Drive Extruder and Hotend supported at all? I would imagine not but worth asking about.

Melissa Boettcher

Ooops, almost forgot. One of the things that gave me fits when -I- was trying to design my mount/shroud is that the H2s are not symmetrical and when trying to mirror it for my IDEX printer the thumb wheel required some standoffs and other considerations. Something extra to consider.

Bob Sisson (Ninovan)

Please let me know when they become available. I am happy to share what I have done for the H2 if it helps...

Bob Sisson (Ninovan)

I am sorry but integrated extruder/hotends including like the BIQU H2 (along with the Micro Swiss NG, BIQU H2, Titan Aero, E3D Hemera, and the Bondtech LGX Shortcut), are not compatible with the current Hero Me design architecture (including Gen7). Andrew Soderberg

Yes it is the same as the MK8. I will add more detail to the documentation.

Andrew Soderberg

So i looked through the documentation for this because i was happily surprised to see the Revo CR being supported. But it seems odd to me nothing references the hotend mount that should be used for this. I could figure out it is probably the standard MK8 one, but perhaps this should be more clear

Jacob Carstensen

Are there any thoughts about making a Fan Shroud for the Biqu H2? My printer uses TWO of them (IDEX) in an R/L config, so I had to design shrouds that were "mirror-able," and I am happy to share what I did to help. Mostly it was taking other works and combining them into something that worked...

Bob Sisson (Ninovan)

The hotend is mounted directly to the MSDD plate so the filament path is straight from the MSDD extruder to the hotend. For the MSDD Linear rail Kit, you should be using this Hero Me Gantry Adapter: HMG7 MSDD Linear Rail Gantry Adapter V2.stl

Andrew Soderberg

I have a micro-swiss linear rail direct plate. I printed out all the appropriate files, but the plate mount is causing a horizontal offset between the opening of the hot end and the exit tube of the DD mount.

Samarth Mahapatra

Thank you for responding. I got pointed that direction by your discord server aswell.so I just printed the front bracket named mgn9-h. The issue is that now printed out the screw holes don’t allign at all. Mgn9h is supposed to have 16mm and 15mm between the holes. On that file the holes have 14mm and 20mm.

Marlon Kurras

These are the two files you want: For a front mounted linear rail: HMG7 MGN9-H Linear Rail Front X Carriage.stl and HMG7 Linear Rail Bottom Belt Bracket.stl For a top mounted rail, use: HMG7 MGN9-H Linear Rail Top X Carriage.stl and HMG7 Linear Rail Top Belt Bracket.stl Sorry, I thought these file names were descriptive enough. I will see what I can do to improve the naming.

Andrew Soderberg

So im having an ender 3 with the hero me 5 for the standard mk8 hotend. A roller died but I have linear rails laying around so I want to change my x axis to linear rail. In the folder for linear rails I do find one adapter plate that fits for my mgn9 rails, but it has no holes to attach the bottom belt bracket to it. Is there something I am missing or not understanding? The pdf doesn’t say anything about linear rail assembly’s

Marlon Kurras

I don't like using this heavy piece of not very precise bent piece of steel very much. Currently I am using a printed bowden setup with a printed back plate. Is there any way to merge/use the gen6 backplate for the Anet A8 with the gen7 adapter?

Edwin

hello sir, only info & #hero-me-discord channel are available. i can't find #get-started channel. please your help. thanks.

dfran

Also, I do believe the linear rail x carriage is the same

Luis Galindo

Thanks for responding, I am using the dragon hf hotend. I do intend to convert it into a direct drive asap, and my current extruder is a bmg, but I have an orbiter 1.5 on order. This is the part that's different : https://www.printables.com/model/190106-twotrees-sapphire-gantry-bracket Btw, the four screw top is the same just shifted apparently due to the difference in the gantry bracket. If any more measurements are needed, please let me know.

Luis Galindo

I am still working on the Gen7 version of the Linear rail carriage/gantry adapter for Sapphire Pro/Plus and the Hero Me Gen7. I have a Sapphire Pro, which is what the current one was tested against. From what I know the linear rail x carriage is supposed to be the same for these two printers. What hotend are you using? Do you intend to make it a direct drive setup? If so, what extruder do you plan to use?

Andrew Soderberg

Hi, I became a patron to get Hero Me gen 7 on my two trees sapphire plus (SP-5) but I think the only one available is a gen 6 and I have printed it and it does not fit. Any idea on how to make it compatible? I have a link to the carriage if needed. Thank you

Luis Galindo

Thank you so much! I appreciate it!!

Vicarth

yes the SE is the same as the S apparently I havent modded my 2 S machines they are both still stock (one is offline and I want to change to a revo hotend)

Jim Hribnak

I have sent you an invite to the Discord server via Patreon messages. The Voron Switchwire was a special mod of the Hero Me Gen6 Base. That Base mounts to the existing Switchwire carriage. I have not yet looked at doing a Gen7 version as the whole Switchwire assembly would have to be replaced with a Hero Me Gen7 compatible X carriage. I will put this on my to-do list. The Gen6 version is in a folder called 'Voron Switchwire Stealthburner-Afterburner' within the Direct Drive Bases folder of the Hero Me Gen6 archive. This version only supports 'collar' mounted hotends (E3D V6, Revo Six, Spider, Dragon, Dragonfly BMO, Rapido, V6 clones, etc). I have added a couple of photos to the Switchwire post that shows the assembly: https://www.patreon.com/posts/hero-me-gen6-to-69005934

Andrew Soderberg

Does the 'S' have the same X carriage as the 'SE' model? Do you want to use the stock hotend from the Thinker S? Or are you going to replace it with something else? I have a Gantry Adapter for the SE model, but I have not yet made a Gen7 hotend mount for the stock hotend. You are the first to request one in over 2 years.

Andrew Soderberg

Good Afternoon MediaMan! I'm struggling to find a gantry adapter for the Voron Switchwire, I would post on discord, but I don't seem to have the invite to the All-Access tier yet

Vicarth

What Gantry part do I need for an Eryone Thinker S printer?

Jim Hribnak

To properly answer that question, I need more information from you about your setup. As you are an All-Access patron you should go to the Hero Me Discord server and read the posts in the #get-started channel. There are a set of questions there that you need to answer about your setup in order to be able to select the parts needed. I have sent you a Discord invite via a direct message. Print settings (for any filament) are .2mm layer height, 3 walls/perimeters, 35% infill. As ASA will shrink a little, I suggest scaling the parts to between 100.5% and 102% (shrinkage varies from brand to brand) so you might want to print a couple test pieces to see what shrink compensation you need. If you still need help post the answers to those 12-14 questions in the #hmg7-support channel.

Andrew Soderberg

Hello sir, i am using Ender 5 Plus with orbiter v1.5 and phaetus rapido hotend. could you tell me which parts that i need to download and what is the infill percentage for each part if i am using ASA. i am newbie here. thanks

dfran

I am sorry but integrated extruder/hotends including the Creality Sprite S1 used on the CR-6SE (along with the Micro Swiss NG, BIQU H2, Titan Aero, E3D Hemera, and the Bondtech LGX Shortcut), are not compatible with the current Hero Me design architecture (including Gen7). Andrew Soderberg

I test printed the cr6 base bracket and it covers the mounting holes for the strain gauge but doesn't have appropriate holes to mount the gauge to the base. There's a couple remixes of the hmg6 for the cr6 on thingiverse

OlafZBeardo

Is the EZABL supported in Gen 7? I can't find a mount.

Reuben

Is Gen 7 compatible with the creality 6 se 3d printer? Please and thanks

Jol

Gen7, yeah. Just using a normal 5015 heatsink fan without a fan guard. I ended up stopping the fan with some tape during input shaping calibration. Not ideal, but these things are cheap so no biggie if I wreck it. Thanks for the reply!

rei

Sorry for the newbe question. I did print the gantry adaptor. Are you saying I don't need a separate MSDD extruder mount?

Brock Fekken

Thanks! You want this Gantry Adapter found in the Gen7 Gantry Adapters/Micro Swiss folder: HMG7 MSDD Ender 5 Gantry Adapter.stl

The original CR-10 V1 uses this Gantry Adapter: HMG7 CR-10-S Gantry Adapter.stl

Andrew Soderberg

Is this with the Hero Me Gen6-7? Are you using either the Jet or Turbine fan guards? If so. switch to the lightweight guard, that will be much quieter. Also a fan guard can be tightened too much, causing the fan to make added noise due to the blades touching the back of the guard.

Andrew Soderberg

Anyone else using an accelerometer add-on? I get a tooooooooon of noise coming from the heatsink fan... Ender 3 doesn't offer a way to turn it off, so I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to calm the vibrations.

rei

Hio, me too please!

rei

Hello! Just joined here and it's an amazing project. One question though. I have a CrealityCr-10 V1. Can I use the Gantry Adapter for V2/V3 or should I use a different one? I can't find a correctly named one in Gen7 oder Gen6. Sorry, should this not be the place to ask; I've never used Patreon before.

Audio_Ape

any updates?

Erik Van Esch

can i get a link for the discord?

Erik Van Esch

Hello, the link for the Discord server is invalid. Please provide a working link. Thanks! 😀

Kyle Hageman

How can I get a working link for the discord?

Jose Rivera

I am having the same problem with my Ender 3 and Microswiss DD for linear rails.

Eric Overgaard

Great design! The Micro Swiss DD Extruder kit (Ender 5 Plus) is listed as supported but I can't seem to find the proper file to print for the extruder mount.

Brock Fekken

I've created a .stp/.3mf/.obj file for you with the fan's exact size if you want :)

Peter

Understood! Got these since I couldn't find Sunon 12V. URL is to Swedish Amazon so not sure you can find the same on Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.se/gp/product/B07RMTGT27/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 If you want I can send you images (need an email) of the fans with your cooling ducts to show the issue. The base/rectangular hole on the fan fits like a glove inside the duct but it's the holes that are misaligned. Also, the center intake hole for the fan is not in center with the hole on the duct either.

Peter

No changes. You must have a 4020 fan that is different than what was available when the ducts were designed. Please provide a link to the 4020 fan(s) you have so that I can see how to modify the duct to support both types.

Andrew Soderberg

Not sure if you've done any changes to the cooling ducts for the HMG7 since the holes on "HMG6-lightweight-4020-right/left-brace.stl" do not fit the radial fans, not aligned.

Peter

Yes, the docs have that. Basically, .2mm layer height. 3-4 wall/perimeters, 35% infill. If you have a full silicone sock on the hotend and you're only going to print PLA, PLA+, and PETG, then you can print the parts in PLA+. If you plan to print any ASA, ABS, Nylon, or have the Hero Me with the printer in an enclosed chamber, then print everything in ASA or ABS (note that ASA and ABS have a little bit of shrinkage, so you would want to upscale the parts between 100.5% and 102% depending on the specs of the filament. If you have not already, you will want to watch the two videos in the recent posts. One on Hero Me SLT orientation and the other on Hero Me assembly. The the videos are less than a half hour each.

Andrew Soderberg

Just found this cool project and I am blown away :-) Most likely a newbie question - are there any guidelines on how to best print the parts (infill,..) ?

Karl Codlin

I was right - switching to the Riser instead of the Riser Base fixed my issue. I should have realized "Riser Base" was meant to stack directly on top of the base!

Charles Scheidecker

Any update on the hot end mount for the CR-10S Pro V2?

Michael Anthony

Thank you for the in depth reply! I look forward to those releases in the future!

TeriyakiTyphoon

Andrew Soderberg

I might be wrong but it doesn't seem to support the Ender 3 S1 and their Sprite hotend :(

TeriyakiTyphoon

I THINK I know what I did wrong. I was trying to use "HMG7 6mm DD Riser Base Open" - when what I really should have been using is "HMG7 6mm DD Riser"

Charles Scheidecker

Maybe there's something I'm not quite understanding?

Charles Scheidecker

I think I have my pieces stacked how you're describing. I have my hotend mount stacked on my base, then I have a riser stacked on my hotend mount, then extruder mount on top of riser. I've also tried stacking the extruder mount on top of the hotend mount. I printed all variations of the Orbiter v2 mount, same result with each. The hotend mount stacks neatly with the base, and the riser stacks neatly with the hotend mount.

Charles Scheidecker

With Gen7 the small adapter is all that is needed. The magic is the 'U' shaped X carriage is spun 180deg. This has been tested to work correctly.

Andrew Soderberg

The Orbiter Mount (any DD mount) does not stack on top of the Base directly. The hotend is secured to its mount. The hotend mount is stacked on the Base, and then the extruder mount is stacked on top of the hotend mount.

Andrew Soderberg

I love the redesign from Gen6. I've noticed that the "Lego" pegs on the Orbiter 2 stack don't quite fit the riser/hotend pieces. I'm excited to get my setup going!

Charles Scheidecker

With an Anet A8, with gen6 you supplied a complete substitute 3d printed part for the X carriage metal back plate. With gen7 I only see a little adapter. Do you need to use the old A8 original metal direct drive back plate supplied with A8 with gen7? As this back plate is an U-shape (with the U closed at the bottom) I do not see a match with the small adapter. What am I missing?

Edwin

That sounds great, thank you for the quick reply! I just put my printer back together so once the STL releases I can print it and install my first HeroMe. Very excited!

Michael Anthony

The Hotend mount for the CR-10S Pro is being finished this weekend. I expect to post it by tomorrow evening (hopefully sooner).

Andrew Soderberg

I printed out a bunch of parts to modify my Creality CR10S Pro V2 but I can't seem to find a hotend mount that works. The OEM MK8 MS mount is too small for the barrel at the top of the hotend. I'm looking at the Spider 350 mount and that may work but I have the entire printer apart right now trying to install so don't want to put it all back together just to print the Spider 350 mount and find out that it does not fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Michael Anthony

Would the compatible printer be the Anet A8?

Valter F.C.

I've read the documentation and seen the videos, but for Prusa or i3 style it doesn't have any mention in the files or videos, and I don't know which printer would be compatible. Remembering that I'm building my Prusa Bear, so it's all custom, with Marlin firmware, so any changes are welcome.

Valter F.C.

I have not made a direct 'Prusa' compatible Hero Me Gen7, as Prusa's software expects the PINDA probe to be in a specific location (in relation to the nozzle) in order for the calibration tests to pass. There are Hero Me Gantry Adapters that mount to X carriages of i3 style printers with the 3 LM8 bearings, so if you are not running Priusa firmware it is possible to add the Hero Me to a Prusa clone.

Andrew Soderberg

Message sent with invite. Watch the two orientation video posts, download the newly update (as of today) Parts selection and assembly instructions in the most recent post.

Andrew Soderberg

The Hotend mount for the Dragonfly HIC is currently being created. I will be posting it this weekend.

Andrew Soderberg

Update posted with fix and lots of new content.

Andrew Soderberg

what do i need for a Phaetus Dragonfly Hotend HIC? i dont see the STL file for that in the ZIP file.

Erik Van Esch

Hello. The link for Discord Invitation is invalid. I need help with the configuration: - Printer Prusa Bear Upgrade 2.1 (Clone) - Hotend E3D V6 (Clone Trianglelab) - Bowden - 2x Fan 5015 - Prusa Pinda Probe Sensor (Clone Trianglelab) I need to know which parts to print.

Valter F.C.

Thanks for the feedback. I will correct it.

Andrew Soderberg

Great work! Here's my tiny contribution as a "reviewer": BMS – Phaetus Dragonfly BMO hotend (two screw horizontal mount) BMO – Phaetus Dragonfly BMS hotend (collar/groove mount) I believe that the titles and descriptions are mixed.
