Hero Me Gen7 Release 4 Available Now for All!

2024-02-02 14:09:00 +0000 UTCI have now printed the carriage for the Mercury 1.1. While the carriage certainly looks like it will work. The fan ducts do not appear to be long enough. I checked the angle of the bend towards the hot end and it seems to be short by maybe ten mm. Is there some different way? I checked if there was a different base or something. there is not.

I'm sorry to hear the break wasn't for positive reasons, and by all means don't let the hero me harm your health; take as much time as you need. Also we aren't trying to create a mutiny we just didn't want to see the project fizzle out in case something had happened to you, it's purely out of admiration for your work.

I have a question: can I use cooling ducts from version 7 for version 6, or are there any potential airflow focal point mismatches? And if it is OK, from which version should I use duct offset checkers then? And one more question: what's the optimal way to install the endoscope mount in version 6? Is it possible to backport a model from version 7 for this purpose?

I would love to eliminate the short bowden tube as bondtech offers a direct adapter for the revo micro, but can't find a mounting solution. All I can find are separate mounting, not using the bondtech direct adapter. Love your work!

2023-08-30 17:28:35 +0000 UTCI have a couple of suggestion to further improve the HMv7 With the gantry for the Micro Swiss Direct Drive for the Ender 3. Make it a 2 part gantry without the beam that passes behind the hotend to join both sides. As the hot end is uniquely connected to the gantry for the MSDD E3 option it is not needed for rigidity and it's removal makes removing the entire Hero Me setup very easy. With it connected it is quite difficult and lengthy to get to the hot end for standard chores as you have to disassemble most of the HM to do that. Also I suggest that you add "Self Tapping Thread Inserts" for the Winnsin 5015 part cooling blower fans as the Knurled M3 hot press Inserts ones (OD M5) are too small and just fall through the hole. These self tappers are very snug and allow you to connect the fans via bolts from the outside rather than the other side (which is impossible and ends up in a catch 22 with other parts). https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004111782566.html Just some ideas ...

I wonder if we can actually get away with just creating a gantry adapter to fit the standard Tech2C style mount pattern? It would be great to have some more mounting options for my most faithful machine! 2023-07-18 16:14:22 +0000 UTCThe Ender 3 S1 integrated extruder/hotend is not supported because it is too wide. But if you want to replace that with quality 3rd party gear, it is possible. I will check to see if I have a compatible gantry adapter If not, I would need a STEP or STL of the X carriage, then I can easily create one to fit. If no digital file is available, then I would need caliper measurements of the Carriage dimensions plus center to center and center to two side for all the holes and mounting points i. Order for me to model the X carriage and the make a gantry adapter.

2023-07-17 02:10:11 +0000 UTC@MediaMan3D I have noticed an issue with the MK8 / Ender 3 hotend mount on the Gen 7 components. When doing tests for Pressure Advance and Extrusion Multiplier I have noticed a large amount of vibrations coming from the hotend flexing. While my way of correcting it was crude it does work. I took inspiration from the Gen 5 style mount and made a small riser off the rear mounting plate that gave me the same offset as the modern hotend mount. This also required me to trim a large amount of the base fan shroud to access the bolts. After doing such the print quality is significantly improved. Any way for you to add this an option or maybe similar?

Theses STL files are in the /Hotend Mounts/Hotends/ folder of the ZIP.
