Welcome back to Vyndurvoht, everybody!

Today, we explore deeper into the library. Taboo texts seem fairly innocuous, whereas Imbued texts are exceedingly dangerous. Egalitarian forgelords make mechanical marvels, but their prominence wanes. Your party might enjoy their time in the accursed library, but can they survive a lockdown? There's more and more to discover as we descend ever deeper into the library butte.

Borough Guide

This chapter of the Vyndurvoht borough guide explore the third order of Vyndur dwarves: the forgelords. These jovial makers brew beer, cooking putrid meals, and craft cloudshard mechanisms, weapons and armor. Among their ranks, a LIMINA plant secretly picks up outgoing mail. Plus, we take a close look at two more genres of dartömen! Extreme caution is advised when exploring the Imbued stacks. If you need a way to raise the stakes for a curious party, initiate a lockdown sequence! The range of threats will certainly catch the adventurers off guard.

Map

Two distinct sections of the library surround the central shaft. The Taboo stacks are filled with casual meeting places and nooks, whereas the Imbued texts are carefully sequestered away with plentiful wards to limit their destructive powers. On the north end of the hall, the forgelords meet to determine work assignments before proliferating throughout the level to various workshops fueled by the massive Core Forge. Our variant this week shows off more of the threatening darkness creeping up from the subbasement.

Music

The forgelords take their work extremely seriously. When their vibing out behind an anvil, they suffuse with creative energy. "Spirit of the Forgelords" embodies that joyous creation. Whip this track out when your players are meeting with some of the more enthusiastic workers in the library. Plus, the "(Creative Trance)" variant really hones in on that hyper-focused mindset.

5e Subclass

Our forgelord subclass is free for everyone, thanks to Wizards of the Coast's weird rules about artificer content. You're welcome, I guess! This creative artificer is the ultimate support build: with their metainfusions, the artificer's signature ability gets supercharged. Deploy some beer when your party is resting and then bottle up some snuff gas to put out fires... or maybe attempt to asphyxiate somebody.
