Wresyck Junction 03 - A Spark in the Dark

There's a second sort of serpent ruining The Glows now

Hello all, and welcome back to Wresyck Junction! After a quick sojourn on The Other Side, we're back to Svarnahelm once again. After this release, there's only one more Wresyck Junction drop before we tackle the Definitive Edition. Please start thinking about which Svarnahelm district you'll want to see next (there will be a poll!).

Also, we're pleased to announce the launch of the Borough Bound blog! Our first article presents the "social dungeon," a framework for quests that prioritize non-combat skills in populated locales. It's a perfect method for creating and running adventures in our settings, so consider giving it a read and subscribing to the blog!

Borough Guide

This guide introduces you to the city that exists beneath the city, the land of sewage, drivelines, spark chemists, and fume adders. There are all manner of dangers in the gas tunnels, and you're almost certainly going to want to send your party down below at some point. Next, we provide an overview of Holiday Heights, Wresyck Junction's largest apartment complex. Finally, we present the Glassworks, one the megacorp's primary factory buildings. All those spark vial ampoules need to be made somewhere!

Maps

The southwest corner of The Glows is more industrial and filthy than the gleaming towers near the Sparklight Lounge. The Glassworks lets off huge plumes of smoke within sniffing distance of the Holiday Heights residents. For each of our Wresyck Junction maps, we're providing a bunch of variants: No Neon, Rain, Snowy, Flooded, Desert, Pleasant, Shadowfell, and Desert.

Patrons at the Chief Courier tier get access to our largest interior map ever: the sprawling sewer gas tunnels that connect all across Wresyck Junction. You could run a half-dozen sessions in these tunnels alone. Run combat encounters with fume adders, negotiations with spark chemists, and sneak your way into Wresyck HQ via their basement!

Music

Our primary track today is Midnight Warren, a bit of slow, spaced out jazz to score ventures into the underground. Resonant piano chords give the sense of wide open spaces. For a more ambient version, check out the Lonely Roads variant.

We've also got a surprise bonus track for you all! Our composer Will and his wife Clare recorded a vocal jazz number performed in-universe by Lady Farine Lonsette. You probably won't want to distract your players with Clare's sultry vocal performance during gameplay, but it's a perfect setpiece for trips into the Sparklight Lounge. Give Shiner a listen, and see if you can keep yourself from snapping your fingers.

Glassworks Devices - Collaboration with Valiarch Productions

We teamed up with Valiarch Productions this week to bring you two arcanomechanical devices used in Wresyck's Glassworks. These items are super clever and perfect for 5e adventurers. Valiarch Productions is a comparatively new creator of items, creatures, and adventures for D&D, but we're quite impressed with what they've put together! If you want to use the Runeparser or Wresyck Control Stone in your games, make sure to download the bonus Collaborator Content zip below.

If you dig what Valiarch Productions put together, make sure to give them a follow on Patreon!
