so i've posted trolls a few times, starting back with monsterfuck mountain where they were going to be introduced. i may not actually return to the mountain due to the Overwhelming Scope of it, but i still like the development i'd started doing for trolls. and given tailed races are now a whole Thing with goblins, imps, and gnomes, it's about time i returned to the original tailed guys.

trolls fill the orc niche in fantasy fuckworld, being large, strong, and generally disliked by humans for no real fault of their own. people think they're violent slaughterers due to their nomadic behavior and tendency to occupy abandoned settlements, but they're not really. they're great warriors and hunters, yes, but not any more warlike than humans are themselves. they're more likely to follow after armies than command their own, scavenging what's left behind and making homes in the remains. it's free real estate.

these trolls in particular are part of a clan that moved into sodden, the sunken city from the first chique book. the city's been picked clean of treasure, but the fishing is phenomenal, and that's what matters to them.

all three of them are men. i haven't named The Boys, but the one in the middle is junta, and he's in charge of the other two.
