purple slime ecology facts~~ so of course we all know that purple slime's Effect is that it makes you really stupid horny, but what is the biological reason for this?

you could say it feeds off cum, or dead skin, and certainly it will break down those materials for nutrients when they enter its body. but i think anything that wants to make you horny should have something to gain from that specific effect. thus: i think it must be part of its reproductive cycle. a wild, mature purple slime that's ready to mate will start replacing much of its natural secretions with genetic material, and seek to expose other creatures to it. a creature, once exposed, will be compelled to find as many mates as possible, thus further spreading the slime's own reproductive material. in its natural environment, during its spawning season, there will be multiple purple slimes doing this. eventually, two creatures exposed to different slimes will mate, and a new slime will be born from their combined material. the creatures will then be relieved of the compulsion when the new slime simply climbs off/out of them to go live its life.

there's a lot of variations of purple slime, from tiny ones that specialize in using insects, much like flowers, to larger types that actively hunt creatures to expose to their material. one that specializes in using humans for its cycle will fill its body with attractive trinkets to entice them into reaching inside, as was the case with this particular purple slime and this particular trinket. these slimes can be frustrating and elusive--after all, they don't want you to just reach in and take from it, and will avoid giving up its goods if it's not getting something out of the deal.

the best way to get a purple slime to stay still is to simply give it what it wants.
