Sorry for my negligence in communication. It is always hard to share the lack of good news, but I knownledge the importance of keeping our still faithful supporters in the loop.
But this week I am in a more confident mood. And you know it, we have some good news finally^^
I have found a solid Unity developer! His name is Arfhis~ I wanted to share his twitter and work, but he insisted to wait for him to finish building our first playable Unity build in a short period of time first. So right now let's just welcome our new mysterious TT member in our heart.
To be honest, there were time I felt like giving up. But the desire to create a sustainable business for my team, as well as the love and kindness from our supporters have always pull me back. And we also have accumulated probably $60,000 to $80,000 of contents during such period (after Flash dead) that I would really want to show the world. So, I want to assure everyone that unless I feel like I have tried everything, I have no desire to give up.
And I still think this is the right approach (inviting other developer to join us instead of doing it myself), as I really want to focus on designing contents, as well as essential business, marketing, community support efforts etc. Someone said if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. It reasonates with me quite deeply, as everytime I decided to expand my team, good things happen.
There were many who applied to help on our Unity build. I want to say thank you to all of them! Some I have not been able to get a response due to me missing their Discord messages (I was not awared some messages were sent to friend request section...)
Potential design changes
Right now my priority is to finalize gameplay design (outside of battle), while Arfhis finishes implementing all monsters for our battle.
Things that are likely to be revamped are:
thinking about items and crafts can affect battle
conquered territories can be taken back by enemies in 5 rounds, unless players release their excess monsters(like a token) to such area to deter the enemies
thinking about creating some stats for Lilith, which could generate some mission desire (sense of direction) and maybe some rogue like element to fit with our survival theme
thinkng about redesigning explore and scouting for a more dynamic but simple gameplay
conditions to unlock thrive scenes for some species
These are some major revamps, on top of other new ideas like season, weather, day/night that could imapct gameplay. Things are quite choatic right now for me, but I need to finish the design so our technical progress can move forward again. Our art team is still working full force churning out contents, maybe I need to delegate some contents sharing responsibiliy to my team so our supporters will know how our resources are used. But I think it is a good problem to have, and we are moving to the right direction. I apologize, perpetually, again for things that I am not handling well, especially for community management, communication, technical hiring. But I am moving things forward.
