It really hits you that when Buffy was called that's because another young girl died, there's a lot of horror in that. As for why she feels stronger after she's resurrected, I definitely think there's a lot of metaphor in Buffy and this season was all about her finally accepting the role of the slayer. She started in Welcome to the Hellmouth by saying she was retired and then she "quit" in this ep but ultimately decides to make the choice to be the slayer and accept the consequences - her full acceptance of her role is what makes her stronger. Also, I seriously love your editing style !!!

Because the film was a very rough prototype, there are a lot of ideas in it that Joss later realized would limit an ongoing story, and rightly brushed them aside. For example, in the film, Vampires can fly! So it was an easy call to drop that idea right from the pilot - way too much money for a no-budget show. Also, in the film, it made a whole deal about the Slayer being a kind of reincarnation, with the same Slayer and Watcher fighting the same Vampire Prince for centuries. Totally not the case in the show. In this episode we are told that when Buffy dies (for real), that would be the thing that calls the next Slayer. Still, fun to say, "Into every generation..."

I immediately realized I have to watch both and really only care about seeing the full reaction right away. If it's easier to post these and then the edited YouTube version later for the freeloaders it wouldn't bug me at all, if we could get full reactions sooner and there'd be less time crunch pressure on you, even better. Or not. Do your thing!
