I can't recall any specific spoilers of things that happen, but certain personality traits and info drops that I would wait so the glimpses into the character come from the show before the book tries to explain them. In some ways it would be like watching Solo before seeing Star Wars.

It's technically non-canonical but I don't think there's anything in it that actually contradicts canon. I also don't THINK there's any spoilers for the series within the novel, but it's been a long time since I read it, so if you do want to pick it up, maybe hold off reading it for a bit just in case.
