Hyouka: Ibara Mayaka Plus!

Another Honorable Mention complete! This time we have Mayaka from Hyouka.

Hyouka is a very interesting KyoAni series about a group of friends solving... very mundane mysteries. It's a very engaging, psychologically driven show.

The dialogue here is referencing a specific event from the show that I won't spoil any further with explanation. Suffice to say, Mayaka spending a year perfecting her chocolate recipe both for the sake of making it as irresistible as possible (and out of spite) wouldn't be the most far-fetched turn of events. XD

Ansay, was I'm wont to do, this should have been very easy to draw but I found ways to make it hard on myself. >_>;

Mayaka is a rather petite character so I wanted to do something a little different, but through the iterations on her design I ended up leaning into the pear shape a little harder than I originally planned. As I approached the end it just wasn't sitting right with me; Hyouka is a fairly grounded and realistic series and giving her such cartoonish proportions just wasn't working, so I spent the afternoon adjusting her down to something more restrained.

And then so ya'll wouldn't be completely disappointed by the 'nerf' I went ahead and amped up the extra hefty version slightly and now it's a patreon exclusive.
