Update on my Grandmother:

My grandmother passed away on February 1st at 3:40AM. She was 98 and it was her goal to do so when she entered the hospital last Friday.

I wasn't there when it happened, but my parents and I spent most of yesterday at the hospice house with her; she wasn't lucid but for maybe a few minutes on Thursday, so I'm glad we got to see her on Monday before things accelerated.

I am a little sad, but I take comfort in knowing that this was what she wanted and that she didn't suffer longer than she had to.

There's a chance it just really hasn't sunk in yet, but we'll see how it goes. I'll try to get Barghest max done properly this week to ensure that it doesn't get delayed any further, since I'm not sure when the Funeral is going to be.

Thank you for your patience with the lapse in my schedule; and thank you to everyone who expressed their concern.

Wise words. Thank you.

I can't say I had the closest relationship with my grandma, but I saw her in hospice like you did. I think the worse thing, and maybe closer to your experience, was when a roommate of mine passed. I'd say be prepared for sadness to just come out of nowhere and hit you. Probably for a few years. It can be rough, but with people who care about you to talk to, I'd hope you'll be okay. Hug your loved ones!

Losing a grandma is rough, I still miss mine after 4 years. I saw it as she had a great life with lots of family and friends to remember her by. I wish the best for yours.
