Danganronpa: Harukawa Maki Plus!

Honorable Mention for Harukawa Maki complete! Thank you all for your support (especially in these trying times) and for making this image possible.

As always, Danganronpa characters have a unique style and they're fun to draw. (Though I sadly don't know enough about the series to say much more about the character. -_-; )

That said, this image actually served as a good learning experience for me, not because of the content or the technique but because it forced me to use a new tool and and exposed a weakness of the new line method I've been toying with for the past month. As was mentioned this image was (mostly) drawn while my mother was in the hospital. (As of writing this, she's out of the ICU and we're just waiting to make sure she remains stable and to get instructions on what kind of treatment we'll need to help prevent this from happening again.)

The tool I used was my dad's convertible laptop we just bought him that he basically only uses to check his bank accounts. It's a clunkier experience than my XP-PEN 22R since I have no express keys in tablet mode, but I got about 80-90% of this drawing done while not at home. It was absurdly slow, but taking 3 days to do what I can normally do in a day and a half is still better than doing 0% of what I can normally do in a day and a half.

The other thing is that I think I either need to continue streamlining my new line technique or abandon it. Cleaning up my line art has been taking double or more the amount of time it used to before I switched it up, and while I can see a difference, I don't know if it's really enough of a difference to warrant that extra time in. Back to the drawing board!
