A Were's First 23

I bet you weren't prepared for this! A NON-CURTIS PAGE WAAAAAAAHHHH!!

I really miss dialogue heavy pages. They are so much fun to me. They feel like an actual REAL comic to me and they look better, in my opinion.

Anyway, sorry about the non-Curtis page. This isn't a prono, it is a completely uncensored comic for full artistic freedom of expression. Therefore there is plot and there must be plot development pages. It will be worth it. Next week is another non-Curtis page.

There will be a timelapse but the color phase was not recorded properly.

Its gonna be chaotic for sure.

Warbear

He's probably gonna be in for a surprise. (Insert obvious reference there)

Roque

I would never!

Warbear

Yeah I thought it would be obvious this is the before times but apparently it's not landing for a lot of people.

Warbear

This’ll be great craic if he’s butchered by Curtis. 😂😂 If he survives the night I’ll be impressed 😂

Ali

I like how you use a modern landline phone lol the shadowing and dark colors here are great.

Rocknrollame207

Oh, trust me, I get it. There are times when a prologue can bog one down, or at least suck up lots of the "new project" energy one would rather put toward the main body of a story.

Kabbalist

*one million awarebear fans* CURTIS!!! CURTIS! CURTIS! xD

ppp

Yes I'm getting right to work on the next page. There's still one more non-curtis page with Jeremy and then we'll return to Curtis.

Warbear

But anyway I hope the storyline is coming back to Curtis soon, I want to see him as a beast :D

ppp

It was a regret I knew I'd have. If I didn't start with the transformation and did origin story instead I would have gotten bored of the project before I could even start the tf. Trust me - this comic is with 20/20 hindsight already applied.

Warbear

Those "hindsight is 20/20" moments can be good inspiration for various special edition re-releases.

Kabbalist

My biggest regret is not leading the story with both characters and setting up the relationship but I made a conscious decision to start with only Curtis for the sake of brevity. I hope it works out fine.

Warbear

Me too.

Warbear

I know right? It's not just a tf comic!

Warbear

She has no reason to believe it's anything more than a prank.

Warbear

I love pages like these. It gives a better picture of the characters and their relationships. Makes the comic/story more realistic and thought out imo. Also, love that tree in the first panel 🤤 Sooo beautiful!

B

Wow, Jeremy's storyline, well I can't wait to see his shocked face 😁😁

ppp

Ooo~

Alez

Wait… he left that message on HER voicemail?!😳🍿 I was wondering why he said “This message is for Jeremy.” Still… that’s some message to leave on friend’s girlfriend’s voicemail… especially when you call her whatsherface 😅 📞 “I’M TURNING INTO A WEREWOLF ‼️ Jeremy’s ears only! Thanks!” *click* 😅 It adds drama. 🎭🤌 Interesting to see where this leads. 🤔

Howler

Can't wait to see what ever you choose! I know it'll be great.

GrizzlyTales

I thought I had decided but sitting here right at this very moment, I still haven't decided what I'm gonna do. I feel like its gonna come down to me drawing the page that I'm going to decide on the spot. That seems to be the only way I can make hard decisions.

Warbear

I guess we'll find out.

Warbear

Wait...I'm assuming Curtis does the classic nighttime prowl, but he was still mostly himself when we saw him. He might be sitting on the couch trying not to break all of the controllers for their TV and game console.

Kabbalist

Ohh what an awesome surprise! Though this makes me wonder, will Jeremy indeed come home to find Curtis mid-transformation, or are further stories about him finding out a possibility following this comic?

GrizzlyTales

Ohhh, this is a good thing. If nothing else, having friends and family members who actually show up makes Curtis a more complete person to be empathized with. Besides, this gives him something to hold on to, or lose if he gets careless. Actions with potential (meaningful) consequences are more interesting in the long run. Also, imagine his worried roommate returning home to evidence of violent struggle and no wounded Curtis!
