The show seems slow because the first season was very abnormal for a Kdrama. Because of Covid the story was compressed into 9 episodes instead of the usual 16 for a Kdrama. The pace of this season is what I expect of Kdramas, and they're taking more time with character development. Seasons 2 & 3 are really a single season of about 16 episodes in total. Netflix split them in half for some reason.
