Chapter 9: Page 355

So I've decided, after a bit of consideration and a good, long look at what Im currently capable of, that I'm going to be taking out the "linework" portion of Periwinkle Blue pages and using just the sketch/fullcolors. I hope this isnt an upsetting change to anyone, and I hope it doesnt feel like a step backwards in my progress, but the truth is I just HATE doing linework. It hurts my hand and halts my productivity on pages-- which is something that I've been struggling with for a little while now. I want to be more productive for you guys, so that we can get to the end of PB and I can start new projects!

Not to mention...I dont think theres a huge difference between clean linework that is colored and my sketchwork that is colored anyway? Some of you might like my sketches even more than the linework. Who knows.

Lasty-- I seem to be more emotional and exhausted over losing my home in the Alameda fire NOW, than I was three weeks ago when it had first happened. Dunno what thats about, but I'm still here so, it's okay.

I like it both ways. Do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself. πŸ’™

I like the softer look to it just as much. Do what works for you. And it is VERY normal to feel the effects of something after an event... you have PTSD. It happened to me after my husband's heart transplant. I had a 2 1/2 and 7 year old at the time. There was too much to take care of and do for me to deal with things...it was six months later that I started to shake and have one of the only anxiety attacks I've ever had. You are just now letting yourself mourn what happened. Give yourself time and permission to feel sad/angry/frustrated/scared. And you don't have to "get over it" you just have to learn how to manage it while you have to do other things for a while. Step one, don't feel guilty for taking moments to feel and therefore process your emotions. They don't go away, they have to be worked through and you can't do that if you ignore them :)

I didn’t notice the missing line work until you mentioned it, lol. Your work is still beautiful. You suffered a major loss. You’re grieving for that loss. It’s understandable. Internet hugs to you and your kitty.
