This was a commission for Isabella Perkins! She wanted Luca with a dark theme so i decided to do something that showed a little more of Luca's life before the story began and he went to Earth for his mission. Where he comes from books and literature and 99% illegal, and the 1% that isnt illegal is a series of vague textbooks mandatory for whatever job or program that the aliens are signed up for.

Luca signed up for the Abduction program because ever since he was little he's been obsessed and fascinated with learning about Earth and Animals and Humans and Plants that live on it. So much so that Luca has spent a good chunk of his young life stealing any book he could get his hands on, going to blackmarket-sort of places to bargain for books. And while no one (besides one other person in this story) knows that he has a very illegal collection of literature-- the other aliens in his program suspect him of it because of how intrigued he is by humans to begin with. And being suspected of having illegal literature isnt something that goes over very lightly.

The other aliens hate him. They pick on him. They are purposefully rough with him during physical training sessions. And at the end of the day Luca goes home with bruises and thinks that he'd STILL, rather have his books than friends. But, nevertheless, he feels very lonely and sometimes its just hard to hold it together.
