Okay real talk!! I want to know your guys opinion on this because I've never written a comic with a "language" barrier before. So For this page what I did was I changed the normal font to its italics version to represent that they are speaking in their native language-- NOT english.
Do you think that this is too subtle? Should I make it a totally different font? Do you think it would help to make their speech start and end with these little guys < > (Example: <You had better start explaining.> )
Or is this good? Easy enough to follow along? Please let me know what you think! :)

Just like how I want to always start my day: Commander Nova in a flight suit. C; For the debate about noticing Nova is speaking a different language: it really depends on the how the language sounds. If the language sounds choppy, rough, hard, I would bold the spoken text. If the language sounds soft, smooth, lyrical, I would italicize the spoken text, but then may change the font to something legible yet flowy, like cursive.

If you want to really imply an alien language I'd vote for squashing the OCD in this case and going with a different font that is still readily readable (ohman there is a troll on another comic who had a fit when the author used a pretty hard to read font lol). like maybe: prєvíєw tєхt? or ρяєνιєω тєχт? or even ƿՐ૯౮ɿ૯ω ੮૯૪੮. and where is Drew?????? :-)

2018-04-17 03:33:13 +0000 UTCI think something a bit easier to discern than italics is needed (i didnt even pick up the italics until you pointed it out 😳) 🤔 < > is easy to spot, although another font could be fun, like if you found one that looks like how the language sounds? ... although that might be a bit hard ....

2018-04-17 02:24:04 +0000 UTCHoly shit Nova looks hot! I don't think the italics implies a different language unless you let the reader know that's the case. I think using <> will show that better. Different font will also help.
