We've seen in the past that Lola always wears some color red when she is with Commander and that is because she is courting him! Here we see Commander reciprocating with the color blue-- and also the idea that he's wearing a "formal" flight suite because of it. :) (Someone get Droo a purple one!)

Wing colors do fall into a sort of "social" system for them. Although there are a lot of different exceptions. Mostly it has to do with bloodlines-- for example the very first color "wing/energy" to develop was the color blue. So blues are considered rare wing colors (most blue died out with The Originals). Having blue says a lot about where you started. Its considered almost mystical. Red on the other hand, was one of the last colors to develop-- its considered very new and substantial to their social systems. Bastil with red are larger, stronger, and natural born leaders, as they are from a more progressive generation. Bastil with Green wings tend to be smaller and more intelligent.
