Chapter 3 - 42

I apologize for posting this last night and then having to take it down... Smh. I realized too late that there were dialogue changes that needed to be made, and once it was posted I started freaking out. (It's been a.... rough week. Ugh)

But anyway, (full transparency here) this update is important and I worry it doesn't quite have the impact I wanted it to-- I was pretty upset with myself about it, although I do think I've changed the dialogue to a place where I'm comfortable now. Once Rowdy gets here in a few days, we're gonna do a big catch-up review and just polish up some of the things from the previous updates, and we might do a little more work on this one. (I wont take it down again though, don't worry.)

But anyway-- This is a moment that Kinley and Fletch have really been needing. And, when you think about it... it's also the first moment they've had alone since they met back up in Louisiana. I'd love to know your thoughts and feelings about this scene. <3 and thanks for being understanding.

*nods you've left me such a lovely comment and I wish I could say more about it without spoiling!!! I will say this though- you're absolutely right about Fletchs leg being red the other night, and that that was a purposeful detail. :) good eye catching it ! ;) we will get a better explanation from Fletch soon but for the next update... yeah you'll jsut have to wait and see. Thank you!

I swear I love this story more and more with every update! You foreshadowed Fletcher having some issues with either overuse or the socket on the prosthesis not fitting quite right a while back (there was some redness when he took it off at night that I picked up on) but I figured I was reading too much into it! I’m interested to see how Kinley responds to this in the next update; with how much Fletch is trying to avoid Kinley seeing his leg throughout this update I’m guessing he knows how serious this can be, but reminding Fletch of that and trying to make him take better care of himself is definitely not going to go over well right now. It seems like Fletcher’s mom and Kinley both can be a little overbearing about him being safe, and poor Fletch probably just wanted to forget about his disability for a while and just feel normal (especially around Judas) but it looks like that backfired on him.
