Like Father Like Son

So, those of you who've read my novel "Honorable Discharge" (Which is Beau and Sage's steamy love story!) should remember the scene where Beau walks into the kitchen in the morning shirtless and Sage pours coffee all over the place staring at him lol. You can see the VERY OLD mini comic I made of it too (which I was reluctant to even share because MY GOD, what a contrast 3+ years of drawing makes. I HATE looking at my old art ahahaha).

Anyway, I've been wanting to make a Dirt and Bebe version of it for a while now and finally squeezed it in! Lucky you guys get two mini comics this week hehe.

Bebe 100% thought Beau was going to yell at Dirt for the coffee... but well, even he can't help but smile. He's gonna go tell Sage what an idiot their wonderful pride and joy is.

(A small excerpt from Honorable Discharge for your knowledge)

He didn’t need any more reasons to talk to Beau, and he worried how last night might affect them as coworkers. What kind of mood was he going to be in today? Would he allow himself to have a normal conversation with Sage now that they’d come to blows?

“Talk to me about what?” A low voice from the entryway sounded behind them. Sage turned—coffee pot in hand—and held his breath as Beau stepped onto the tile. His hair was ruffled from sleep, and the long sleeve shirt he’d worn last night had been discarded. His pajama pants were plaid and fuzzy, but the rest of him was smooth and solid, save for the cast and sling. His hips were lean and his shoulders broad. His skin was warm like honey, or toffee, or the ochre patches of dirt back in Texas.

Gabriel Beau Harjo was not the same breed as the rest of this family. He was quite the thoroughbred himself.

“Oh, no! Sage!” Mrs. Bayley shouted, and he lurched upright. Hot coffee sloshed out of the pot and onto his wrist. It burned him back to his senses, and he swore, slammed the pot back into place on the machine, and backed up from the mug he’d overpoured. The countertop dripped a bitter, brown puddle on the floor.

“Shhhhi— Sorry!” He whirled around to find a towel. His socks were soaked too.

Instead of hating to look at your old art, think of it as evidence of how much you have improved and how far you’ve come.
