Finals are coming up in school

Finals are coming up in school during the next two weeks so I may not be able to do any finished drawings like the ones I usually do.

At the same time, I have become really dissatisfied with my work process on creating new pieces, and am going to take a bit of time to practice and experiment. Any experiment I may still upload on social media, or if anyone expresses an interest I may post them on discord, as they may still be good, just probably won't be size related.

As many of you probably don't know, I have been drawing for just over a year at this point, and haven't ever taken any drawing or art classes. Basically everything I do is trial and error. Because of this, I developed a way of drawing that involved basically photoshopping references together into a franken-reference, drawing that, then spending a great deal of time adjusting lines over and over again until it looked right. I have become very good at fixing things into my style, but not drawing in it, and cannot draw a head without a reference without taking an ungodly amount of time adjusting things until they look right. 

This has an inherent flaw, that being, without a reference of almost exactly what I am looking for, I can't do much. But at the same time drawing like this, allowed me to essentially skip the awkward beginning stages of art. But in the end this is style of drawing is, obviously, very limiting, causing a form of artist block caused not by lack of ideas, but lack of precise references, which I am getting sick of.

So what am I saying? I am going to take some time to work on training my eye, and doing things right the first time, or at least as close as I can get. For a while this will likely make my drawings look a little different for a while as I grow accustomed to it, but in the long term will hopefully result in faster, more fluid drawings. It would also allow me to begin focusing on stories, rather than drawing a pose, and trying to fit it with my idea. I haven't done much with comics in the past because compiling references for them was exhausting, and time consuming, but hopefully in the future I can remedy that and begin doing comics.
