Does Spidey's Web-Swinging 'Make You Feel Like Spider-Man'? | Game Maker's Toolkit

I wanted to explore Spider-Man's web swinging, and the phrase "makes you feel like Spider-Man", which keeps cropping up in reviews for this game.

Hope you enjoy!

Excellent video! I'm really enjoying the game, specifically because I DO feel like Spider-Man when I'm swinging around and fighting. I also like how "easy" it is to travel while swinging, even my 3-year old daughter can do it and feel great, and importantly, not frustrated. I also love how they placed the game 8 years after first becoming Spider-Man. It's so much more powerful in both the story aspect and the super hero side of the game. I feel powerful and special from the very beginning, and yet even more so as I unlocked abilities. Thanks again for such a great video! And, awesome to see Hammond referenced as well. :D Cheers!

I've not played Spiderman, but judging from what i've seen, the web swinging echoes my thoughts on the Overcooked world map. It's a break from the action that helps reset your heart rate between combat(cooking) sections. I did a brain fart on twitter recently: https://twitter.com/AdamSRussell/status/1046402864590057474

Are you a new Patron? If so that's pretty standard, it'll start showing up in videos after your first monthly payment has gone through, which can be some time after you actually make the pledge.

Great video. I didn't mind that the overworld traversal was fairly easy - web slinging for Spidey should be like walking, right? And even fairly deep into the game it's still fun for me. I never use fast travel (I get to ride a REAL subway every day!) But I do wish it was integrated into more missions.

Love your videos mate. By the way, I don't see my name in the credits for this video.

I hope you're ready for an influx of Dunkey fans in the comments...

Excellent video as always. I do disagree with the points about the combat system though. Batman's combat system feels more deliberate. You have to carefully plan which enemy to attack, with a specific attack because of the multiple types. Spiderman's enemies some what behave the same (also have the same silloutes, making them hard to distinguish during a fight.) they only have an additional brute, that you have to be aware of, but doesn't make you re-evaluate your choices as much as Batman's medic, armed, electric bat wielding enemies. Batman also has a combo meter that dictates when u can do special moves, so u have to maintain flow without missing or being hit. Spiderman uses the focus meter, which u can build up however u want, and use it whenever. Then again I think both games try make u live the fantasy of being a superhero, not actually do the work of being a superhero.
