Early Access - What Makes a GREAT Detective Game?

Hey Patrons!

Back in 2017 I made a video about detective game design. And I had to dig deep to find good crime-solving games to talk about - like old PC games from the 90s and obscure indie titles on Itch.

But a lot has changed in the last five years! There are now loads of great detective games - like Paradise Killer, Shadows of Doubt, Return of the Obra Dinn, and Case of the Golden Idol. So it felt like it was time to revisit the topic.

You can watch the episode at least 24 hours early, here.

Oh! And while I have you here... I could do with some help deciding on a thumbnail. Unfortunately the games I talk about in the video don't have particularly great character art so it's been hard to make a good YT thumb. I've made a bunch - but hopefully you can help me pick which one to launch the video with!

Please use the poll below.

1) Corkboard

2) Police Tape

3) Golden Idol

4) Office

Thanks! Speak soon

I like the idea of the corkboard the most but its just to cluttered... therefore police tape. I also like the office but for some reason the other text puts me off

2 and 4 are my favorites. And 4 has a big 2 on it, so I had to think very carefully before voting. 🤣
