An Audiobook Experiment
Added 2023-08-16 14:00:05 +0000 UTCSo, this is the first chapter of Tenebroum's audiobook. It's AI, and it's not perfect, but for what it is I'm kind of blow of away at how it turned out. Currently I have the $5/mo subscription with Eleven Labs. So, that's enough word to create about a chapter a week, which is a good initial goal.
If this is something that people really enjoy though, and I get a few more subs, I will try to justify the next level up, which is $22/mo. That would let me do 10ish chapters a month. I plan to release the first chapter to the public next week as a teaser, but after that I will build up a buffer for patrons just like I do with the written chapters.
So, one more thing coming out for everyone to enjoy, and hey - if people like it i would love to do Death After Death too. Golemancer and Letter of the Law currently lack the readership for this experiment (and I want to pretty heavily edit both of them,) but I very happy with Tenebroum and Death After Death's basic structure, baring a bit of cleaning up.
I actually found 3 mistakes in Tenebroum's first chapter while i was making this file that I never noticed before.

The game's aesthetic in general is close enough to Tenebroum that I can't help it. This voice isn't even far off, it's only missing the emotive touch. Great work!

2023-08-17 12:48:30 +0000 UTCIt’s really good. I suggest trying out one of the later chapters with more emotions and people talking just to make sure it has a broader range. I really think it needs to have a good range of emotional expressions so that the contrast in the book is more effective. Also you could make a new tier on patreon for audio book chapters.
