“Is that even possible?”
“No, and yes. If you had any experience, then probably. I’m not a powerful empath, but I can at least warn you and try to transfer anything you’re feeling to myself, which I can easily eliminate. Just stay close to me at all times. Though do that regardless, we don’t want to be singled out.” I nod, wondering if all this was possible with the way my body was beginning to act.
“Later today, we need to recon the area and -,” Rahim starts to say as someone pounds on the front door. I do a quick headcount, seeing that everyone was here besides Jeff and Faye. If I had to bet, it was Jeff.
“I’m going to guess it’s Jeff,” Bradley says, leaning forward as Rahim goes to answer it. Instead of a drunken older man, we watch as Rahim opens the door and a young, familiar woman charges in, straight into an unprepared Rahim.
“Amarante?” he questions, steadying her and pulling her in for a tight hug.
