Ada Wong Armory Hallway Pinup Release

Hey all :)

Here's the finished Ada render; hope you like it! I was originally hoping to finish this on Wednesday and have it published for you all by Thursday, but I had something come up and had to push this back a few extra days. I just have the "with tattoos" version for today's release, but I'll be rendering out the "without tattoos" variant tonight and publishing that for you all tomorrow.

So, about the render. No fancy titles of flavor text for this one; just an idea that came to me and I decided to roll with it. Those of you with a keen eye who have played RE4R might recognize the setting for this render as the 2F Hallway of the Castle Armory (hence the post title/render description).

At first blush, this render might look kind of simple or "low effort," but I actually spent quite a bit of time playing around with the look on this one, trying different things. For example, I experimented with having statues of armor flanking Ada in the hallway background. I also tried some poses with Ada carrying her Blacktail handgun. But with every experiment, I found that adding extra details made the render feel "noisy" with too many focal objects/points of contrast drawing your attention. By comparison, keeping the render "simple" with a single focal object — Ada — produced a very striking result. In other words, sometimes less is more, y'know?

In terms of variants, as I mentioned in the post opening, you have both "with tattoos" (today's release) and "without tattoos" (which I'll be rendering tonight and publishing tomorrow). In terms of post-processing styles, there are three to choose from: "soft" and "stylized color grading" are pictured here, respectively, and you'll find "sharp" in the MEGA archive. Note that I've also uploaded the max quality versions of the embedded images as attachments to this post if you want to download them through Patreon instead of the MEGA archive. I'll continue doing this going forward, as well.
