Saturday mini update on Zap & Andy get outta hell!
Added 2018-07-29 00:10:59 +0000 UTCsince some of the people that i showed Dab's design liked both his sleepy teddy bear one and the freddy krueger-esque one i tried to merge them and see what would come out. The result isn't too bad, but i think i'm still a bit partial on the pajamas one. what do you guys think?
i managed to also animate some of the regulars of hell, the damned:
if you see a green skinned person in hell you're probably looking at a damned. They were sinful in life and now they're paying the price in hell..or they should be , i dunno if joining a giant orgy counts as punishment! but these guys are trying their best not to fall asleep, so something is definitely amiss!
lastly i had some time today to make one frame of the motel characters
starting from the left we have what we are still calling "shaman". when he was alive he was the head of a cult based on luck, and will help the boys enter the dream realm through his knowledge of psychedelic drugs and mysticism. He used to look a bit different since it's a design anothermeekone started, i just added the dice pendant and his golden robe , wich is a punishment dished out to hypocrites in the divine comedy. Then we have our boy Sid (still thinking about animating the intro with the dictator design instead) and the last one is another of meek's design, the "hellnaut" a stranded living human that is trying to probe the mysteries of the afterlife while still alive.

he definitely straddles the line between creepy dream demon and cuddly wuddly teddy beaw , i wonder if we'll manage to pull those traits off in the game!

2018-07-29 19:21:07 +0000 UTCI have to say, the new design for Dab sure looks great, a bit of a mix from the best parts of the best designs you suggested previously. fits a joke of "teddy kruegger" perfectly since, being a dream/sleep related character to see him have relation to both a good sleep symbol (such as a teddy bear) and a bad sleep symbol (obviously freddy kruegger) gives him a lot of personality, makes me kind of imagine him pretending to be nice and cuddly just to snap at the merest sign of distraction to prey on his victims with a maniacal laughter; But about Sid, he sure looks cute in his king style, but the dictator type could be a more tyrant inclined lazy guy, which makes it a lot more interesting in my opinion.

2018-07-29 07:57:15 +0000 UTCI like the design and all, but it kinda kills the variety since Sid's and Dab's builds are a bit too similar. Like both are egg/pear shaped in both face and body, just Dab is a bit wider and has trunkier limbs. I'm cool either way, I'd just appreciate more body shapes.

Also all of the NPC's look great, the different designs and body types are cool to see across all the characters. I think I already mentioned my preference for/love of the dictator concept, but I will say that Sid's current model here looks pretty good too!
