UaRoB: Interlude 12 — The Battle of the Burning Fever

Comments

Well that is nearly half of the Ironborns total strength lost in a single battle.

Potato

He has thousands of men in the prisoner camps. Most of them are just smallfolk or men at amrs. Jon has a few ideas abour them, but most will be freed once the west is done. The knights, lords, heirs, and wordt of the criminals will receive trial and be sentenced to death or the wall. Many will be ransomed too. It all depends on who they are, and what they did to be there.

Jajasx222

He did not arrive in time for the battle, sadly.

Tftc! I know Sam killed an Other in cannon, but just like then, him beating Victorian feels a big much for the dude. I don't find it as jarring here because at least this story allows for more classical fantasy feats then Martin's more cynical writing. I know its probably still a ways off, but I'm really looking forward to the Dany or Selmy POV where they meet.

Also, I was just thinking about all the lose ends that “A Dance with Dragons” left open ended and I just realized a few things. We haven’t even heard of what Ramsey Bolton has been doing and that scares me considering how much of a psychopath he is. Also, I hope we see Val and the wildlings eventually, I love them so much. Lastly, if Stannis tries to lay siege to King’s Landing in this it will go A LOT differently with how much more support he has and how much less troops the Lannister’s have (with no Tyrell back up). I’m really looking forward to what else you show us!

“The king said We can build houses, but we can revive the dead,” he said, almost to himself.” I think you mean “can’t revive the dead.” Nice chapter! Also, I was not expecting Victarion to die so early. One might think that this is a good thing, but with him gone and Theon not with the Ironborn, Euron is going to have control of the entire Iron Fleet (or what’s left of it LOL) earlier, which is NOT good.

GalacticTNT

Kinda already happened didn’t it?

Invictus

Don’t think so. If Robb Stark isnt going to be Hand of the King then another equally respectful Lord will have to be put in his place. Sams fine as the steward as is maybe even overseeing the west at some point but it’s likely to have to go to other lords like Willa’s Tyrell, Bronze Yohn etc Tho sam could be a choice if he builds up his reputation more ig

Invictus

He might just look like he swallowed the nastiest lemon of his life lmao

Invictus

I somehow forgot he killed That Other in cannon. Well when you put it up against killing Victorian I suppose it’s not too big a deal..

Invictus

Interlude with was obvious it was coming sooner rather than later and while I thought it was a good chapter plot armor or no I find Victorians death to be… less than satisfying lmao. Considering who he is and what he’s done it’s really hard to imagine he loses to a bumbling buffoon like sam Smh. Personally I’d have found it better if Sam just straight up died to up the stakes more. Holding the Moat at the cost of a significant allies life. But that’s just me atm. I am hoping we get another POV chapter for Tyrion Tywin and Barriston soon though. In addition to all the major southern players Stannis The Tyrell’s and FAegon. Dorne rallying its banners so soon for Aegon iirc is also unprecedented by cannon unless they think he’s their best chance at vengeance regardless if he’s real or not but even then that’s kinda.. ooc? For Doran Maybe if Aegon secured a few W’s over the reach or Stormlands

Invictus

Great chapter! Thanks for writing!!

Jason

Huh... thanks!

Jajasx222

its supposed to be Interlude 12 not Interlude 11

Amit Efraim

Would love to see Tyrion and/or Tywin's reaction next

V83

I knew as soon as it happend Sam would have his slayer moment, would have been more game of thrones esque to kill him off

fine

Where's Theon in all this? Ain't he at the Moat?

Patrik Straka

Thank you for the chapter. Sam was beyond brave for what he did.

Radiant Tiefling

Will Jon be sending his prisoners to the watch? How many men does he have captured? When will dark sister make its way to Jon.

Logan65

Oh Bealon is so screwed. Losing Victarion and an entire army in one day is disastrous. Randyll will never in a million years believe his son killed THE Victarion Greyjoy in battle.

EM

Like always Old Sammy boy proves his worth. His dad does not know what he lost. Wouldn't mind him as hand of the king since old Tyrian is still enemy. Thx for the chapter and i agree with the others we would like to see the Ls reaction to continuing losses.

Kronus4i

He'll have a ass' stroke, Victorion is the most dangerous fighter of Ironborns is killed by Ser Piggy😂😂😂 That what Nordic air and winter do with southern boys, make them war machines 😈😈😈

Arcturus

Sam the Slayer!!!

Theodore c

I really want Sam to end up as the Hand of the King with a serious reputation after all he just won a battle and technically killed Victarion Greyjoy. It would be really funny if he was the greatest Tarly in centuries and to read about Randyll Tarly being forced to accept that.

SneeringImperialist

I hope his father hears of this battle and him killing Victron Greyjoy. Would love to see his reaction. Thanks for the update

Dragonslayer29

Would love if next chapter is Lannister pov of losing the rock
