Why don't we see more CRPG games on the channel? Lots of obsidian games to choose from pretty pls Jon. I'm assuming that they don't get high views? Ok, a sneaky third question! - I saw a video recently by Juicehead which featured a Fallout Mod with new voice acting which had been generated by AI, using the original voice actor's existing lines to generate new lines in a AI generated voice that sounded just like theirs. This can then lend it self to opening up new lines of dialog with existing characters as well as new ones really enhancing the immersion you get from the mod, compared to just reading the text as we had to previously or put up with extremely questionable voice acting! Just wondered if you had seen it and your thoughts on a) the ability to do this and the possible impact on mods & b) the tech itself - on the one hand it's amazing what it can do, but on the otherhand is it right to use an AI generated copy of a performers voice to generate new content for free? It's possibly one of the biggest things to come along in Fallout Modding for years and has pretty big potential - would it be a persuading factor in featuring a mod if it was suitable for the channel? Hi Jon, hope team MATN is all well. Sorry, this is going to be a long question, but it appears you've had a few of those this month, I guess it's going to end up being a long Patreoncast! A bit of a two parter (sorry) - I presume you've seen the flood of Stellaris DLCs over the past month and the big 3.8 update - with the two DLCs in particular, I do feel there's a great opportunity for a new Role Play series in part because of the new council mechanic and how it's expanded with the Galactic Paragons DLC and the expanded civics, origins and RP flavour that's been added recently - can we persuade you to look into it please :) Part 2 - I see it's also picked up a Co-op mode. I'd like to pitch an idea of a community Stellaris night at some point (yes, I know you can't play a stellaris match in one night!, but just as a test). In a style similar to the Paradox Stellaris Streams, you'd have say 3 teams of between 2 and 4 players from people in the community (to keep the numbers manageable), headed up by trustworthy members (mods perhaps) who would speak for the team from time to time, when wars are declared etc.. - that way you reduce the risk of someone saying something they shouldn't! The co-op player leaders would then manager the teams as they see fit, be given empires to role play as etc.. I appreciate it would take a bit (ok, a decent amount) of time to setup, but it could be a different way to run a community night and get some of the community involved in the actual livestream, over and above just being part of the game - ala Fallguys etc.. Keep up the good work, your videos always brighten my day, even if they do air a bit late for us UK based :)

Hi, Jon! Hope you guys are doing well! My question may be weird, but bear with me... I've been feeling quite anxious because of the whole ChatGPT and AI boom, as it seriously threatens to replace my profession, and I've observed how quickly people fell in love with it. What is more, it's even invading my safe space, music, which I play / make as a hobby. All those AI imitations of well-known artists... I've made some music that was used in quite popular YT shows and I was not paid, obviously. People expect art to be free, and nowadays, they'll pay to have an AI generate music for them rather, than pay a musician (even symbolically). I genuinely hate AI generated images / music, I think it's soulless, and I'd rather listen to crappy music made by a person... I'm sure corporations (be it streaming services or game publishers) will use AI to pay their employees even less or do away with them completely, ushering an era of bland, algorithm driven crap that they are already feeding us. I know I'm being naive as my feelings matter not, and all those AI tools will definitely stay with us. So my question is: how do you see it? Should we accept that this is our world now and just prepare to become irrelevant? How do you see it affecting you as a YT personality? Sorry for my downer thoughts, but it makes me really sad.

You mention frequently that many enemies can't actually fly in Fallout(FO4 Bloodbugs, Stingwings, FNV Cazadores, etc.), and there's nothing that can harm you in the water(barring guns from the surface), and this is something that holds true for all previous games, 76 being the first to implement truly flying enemies(Scorchbeasts, I believe?). If you could design an enemy from the ground up for Fallout specifically, what would it be, what would it look like, and what would its strengths/weaknesses be?

Here's an interesting lottery factoid about Nipton. The lottery is illegal in Nevada. Nipton is on the other side of the California border. There is a store called, literally, The Lotto Store, which sells and redeems lottery tickets, and nothing else. While technically in Nipton, it shares a parking lot with a Primm casino, 12 miles away. Apparently in a state where you can't brush your teeth without walking past a gambling opportunity, the lottery is such a huge draw, people will drive to, and through, Primm, just to buy tickets in (technically) Nipton.

Jon! You spoke in a recent patroncast about disagreeing with the ability to respec your character in The Outer Worlds. The way it works in that game is every time you do it, it costs twice as much as last time, so you can only do it a limited number of times before it becomes untenable. Similarly, in Elden Ring, the larval tears allow you to respec, but there are a finite number of them around the world. Don't you think it's fair for games to allow you the option to respec if you really regret your build or find an item that changes how you want to play—provided the ability to do so is extremely limited?

The lore expansion they add, as well as giving much needed background about existing characters really shines through, and somehow it also manages to capture the feel of Mass Effect 1 almost perfectly. Have you ever read these books, or know of them? Well worth it for someone who is a big a fan of ME1 as you are. Also Fallout Of Love is in pre-production, currently we have characters. Hello Jon, last month you talked about how you’ve been radicalised against fireworks ever since Ted joined you and Claire. I’ve had the same experience with my dog Hati, who turns into a panting, slobbering mess that crawls all over me, my furniture and even the radiators. I don’t like to sedate him with pills, so I bought him a Thunder Shirt, it’s a blanket-like thing you can tightly wind around the dog without limiting their movement. The idea is they feel like they’re swaddled in a blanket. It doesn’t stop them from being scared, but I think Hati calms down quicker ever since I’ve started using it. Jon, happy spring to you, Claire and Ted. You mentioned once that Total War: Attila may very well appear on the channel. In that context, a question. When the Roman Empire was de facto divided into an Eastern and Western half, it seems that the East was dealt the much better hand, especially because Egypt as the richest province and corn chamber was in the East. Were the people back then aware that they basically cut Rome off these riches, damming it to a death by a thousand cuts through Barbarian incursions?

Hi Jon! Thank you for the Advance Wars video. Hopefully the reboot can bring more fans to this overlooked gem of a series! As for AW2 CO’s I like Sami for her super power, Sensei for his theme song, and Kanbei for just being able to run over everyone else like a truck. I agree that Days of Ruin wasn’t as good but there are elements I like, like the Carrier being able to launch planes and the Battleship being able to fire after moving. For all its faults Days of Ruin made naval units more useful and fun to play, for me at least. Anyway, I’m hoping for streams of the reboot, and I’m looking forward to X-Com 2 as well! Thanks to you and Claire for all that you do!

Jon what do you think will happen when people using subscription services start to die? I can't help but imagine that some where someone is getting a box of cat food delivered once a week and is extremely confused as to why. I had free cable for about a decade because the previous tenant had it installed and the cable company never came to remove it after they moved out.

Jon, over the years of YouTube content your love of the classical period is very clear, are there any other time periods (and specifically regional histories within that period) that are of similar if not equal interest to you? For example, I am far more interested in the stories and myths of the Old West than generally the rest of the Victorian Era as it is just so different to what the majority of the Anglic world was experiencing at the time that it deserves to be recognised whilst also having the heavily romantised version of history for when you don't want to take things so serious whilst being immersed. Thank you for all that you do and can't wait for the Jedi Survivor livestreams and whatever you have planned for the new Stellaris dlc!

Jon! So I’ve recently started walking using “Zombies Run!” app as motivation. It’s an immersive radio series where you play as “Runner 5.” One of the good things is if zombies aren’t your thing, you can walk to other tales. One is “Rule Britannia” where you are Quintus. The first episode involves delivering a message to the Roman legate assigned to Hadrian’s wall region there to fight Picts. The Legate receives his orders from the Emperor. The Legate refuses and then messengers are obligated to murder the legate in the name of the Emperor. Has this ever actually happened in Ancient Rome?

Also Jon I’m guessing you have a list somewhere of ideas you can do for fallout series. I had a couple of ideas that maybe you hadn’t thought of. Useless Steve makes it to fallout 4 Maybe you could do a no armour run (like you have done no guns) maybe you could run around in the dress grills bears loves. Or you could have build all your own guns (or at least modify only no buying guns). I’m sure you have loads of thoughts on what fallout series to do next just thought I would suggest somethings that came to mind. Also loving the Sunday series at the money. Like the cross over between 3 and new vegas.

I read the inheritance cycle when I was young, and reread it recently and personally I would absolutely recommend it, I think the books are amazing! I also read ancillary justice because of Claires recommendation and loved it too!

This is the current thinking; XCOM 2: War of the Chosen Veteran difficulty Lost & Abandoned Enabled Shen's Gift & Alien Hunters enabled but NOT integrated Some light QoL mods (Evac All, Perfect Information, etc)
