Just to let you know years ago when that episode of Ace at Marineford aired with his death on the day that happened, a friend at work who knew I liked One Piece spoiled it for me and told me in detail what happened to Ace I was gutted! So when I got around to watching OP and to this moment I was a sobbing mess. At the time no paytv network had OP on for me to watch and continue watching from where I left off as mid Alabasta stopped airing in Australia at the time when it air in early 2000's. It's probably why I took a bit longer to rewatch and then catch up in One Piece. If the friend never had told him I probably would have been watching One Piece earlier then when I did which was 2-3 years ago.

I loved watching this episode as it sets the foundations for Strong World. Remember, this is the first OP movie which sees Oda as executive producer, so buckle up!!! Also, the character Shiki is canon but not the events in the movie, which may explain why Luffy is able to defeat Shiki.
