I absolutely love that Jason is critical about this first episode--PLEASE keep being this way. I've seen reaction channels just adore every thing they watch and it makes everything seem fake and insubstantial. Anyway, I appreciate the realness. But I know you two already are far enough in to enjoy it at this point.

2024-11-27 06:33:15 +0000 UTCIt's a great show with groundbreaking and stunning animation but I agree with Jason that as a first episode it doesn't reel you in like an anime, although it's an unfair comparison. With OP and other anime we have hundreds of episodes to really get to know the world and characters and this is only a short series. Also, I tend to try and start getting an opinion towards the end of a show as I want to give the story and characters the benefit of a doubt until things clear up a bit and get more fleshed out. And they will, trust me. I have my opinions on this show which I will not share until you finish S2 as I don't want to spoil you, but it's worth watching.

Just give it time Jason this show definitely lived up to One Piece's standards. Jason is definitely feeling a clash of style from Oda's. However this opening is much like how you only saw a small portion of Luffys backstory, before you got the other 90% at the 500s of episodes or chapters.

2024-11-26 18:40:41 +0000 UTCAs you know I loved this show. But I watched also more episodes in a raw. So Please watch the at least 3 episodes and yes this is a not an anime and has only 9 episode in the first season and 9 in the second and last one. It is different than anime.

But the show does get really good. It has a darker undertone and if ure looking for heart (it does have heart tho) but its more head in this show coz it talks about political and societal issues. it does get good I promise. havent watched season 2, maybe ill wait and watch with u guys

2024-11-26 17:37:51 +0000 UTCYes it’s hard to watch non anime/western shows and movies after watching anime. Watching anime definitely raises your expectations by a ton. There’s nothing that compares to anime in modern tv in my opinion. I barely even watch anything that’s not anime any more.

It may feel slow at first, but you need to let the show build up. Give the actors some time to cook, the voice acting is top tier. ;)
