2023-12-27 18:52:40 +0000 UTCA little late, but Merry Christmas! The One Piece movies are made so that we can think of them as happening in between what goes on in the regular anime arcs. This one happens after they get Usopp in Syrup village, but before they come to Baratie and meet Sanji. The best bit about the movies, especially the later ones, is that you get to see some really good animation because of the higher budget. This movie was written by Michiru Shimada (though I did have to look it up, haha). She's a regular writer for the anime and has written several episodes.

Some of my personal favorites are Movie 6 Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island from 2005, Movie 9 which essentially is a remake of Drum Island arc with some big changes but Choppers backstory is pretty much the same, Movie 10 Strong World from 2009 and the One Piece Movie that I consider is the very best one Film Z from 2012!
