Hatter's death didn't surprise me at all because we felt during the last episode that Aguni and co wanted to take power. Chishiya knew it also, and he was just waiting for the right time to make his plan. The fact that Arisu and Usagi arrived at the same time was perfect for him, he doesn't know them but they want to reverse the situation, so he can use them. It was a perfect plan, and his deduction for the safe and the passcode was really cool.
I totally hated what happened at the end with Usagi, and what the guy told doing that. How dare you. I was almost glad that a game began during this moment, even if it amplifies my questions about the place : when was it created, since how long ? Something felt off with it. And how you can put all of these phones here, and transform the place so quickly into a game arena ? For me, the theory "virtual world" can explain all of that, with non-player characters and things created by a gamemaster.
