Hello !
First, no one died during this episode. That's an improvement which needs to be said. Second, yes, I cried. But it seems that it's a curse I had for all of this last season. Right there, we had Uthred saying a final goodbye to Brida, seeing his daughter taking the same path and fighting for giving her a home, when in fact he has none. It's easy for the viewers to be like "Bebbanburg ! Go back, fight for it !" but at this point, Uthred faced so many failures with his town, and lost so many people this season, that he couldn't believe it.
Thanks to the promise he made to Aethelflaed to protect her daughter, thanks to Grandpa who is now in Bebbanburg, and all of that, now Uthred is on. But Edward is not. And I have some issues to understand his strategy of "if I don't play, I don't lose". Yes, right, but as a King, it's a weakness, and you're losing in fact because you choose to split Northumbria in two parts. I loved that everyone joined Uthred in that discussion, and yes because of Aethelstan, Aelswith AND a lot, Aldhelm.
