Hello !

With time, I'm gonna think this final episode was a good end for this wonderful show. I loved all of Ubbe's arc, Floki being back and that final discussion. The meta reference was maybe too much, but that serene final scene is bringing hope for the future. Ivar's death was beautifully done, I cried like hell, I was so glad that Hvitserk had nothing to do with it, all of what they said to each other… But. Because I have three "but" for this end, and one that I already edited in my head.

First "but", the end of Kattegat. I have nothing against Ingrid but it doesn't feel right to have her on the throne. Especially with one of Ragnar's sons still alive who could be that person. But no, second "but", Hvitserk is "just" converted to the christian god and staying in England. Ok, logical and a reminder of Ragnar's journey, but Hvitserk deserved better and his development during this season was supposed to lead him to better. Third "but" : we saw ghosts of the past for Gunnhild and Harald, but none for Ivar ? I would never forget that.

It's the first "but" that I already edited in my head. Ingrid is not the Queen of Kattegat, she's the mother of the future King of Kattegat, Bjorn's kid. Don't try to convince me of the contrary.

I'm still french, so I'm still sorry if my english hurts you.

I absolutely agree 💯 I cannot wait until the new Vikings: Valhalla series. It's supposed to take place about 100 years later, after the sons of Ragnar. And it's based on the other famous Vikings who lived. I think it's going to have the same writers but I can't remember. If so, then I'm certain that it will be another emotional rollercoaster and awesome episodes like what we have seen here.

Hello! His death broke me because it was representing really well who he is, someone who is speaking and acting with his heart, who believes that he has a destiny, who is not giving up even if everything is telling him to. This final confession of fear, these tears, it felt like he was finally opening himself to his brother, like he was ready to give up, to say he's afraid, to accept his death. It was do well done by the writers because it was important, him saying that, for the story, the relationship with his brother, but also to end the development of his character, that was a perfect conclusion.

I felt a very deep pain with Ivar's death. He was a king who outsmarted his enemies at every turn and struck fear into the hearts of men. He was the leader with very captivating and rallying speeches. He was the ruthless king who changed into a more vulnerable character in the end who really loved prince Igor and his brother Hvitserk. I never saw him cry like that, which made it more emotional I think because we're not used to seeing someone so strong and ruthless show how vulnerable and scared they truly are. Anyway, excellent reaction to an excellent show! Glad you came along for the journey 🙂
