That scene at the end implies many things, so important ! I knew Mai was gonna come and it's logical that Azula and Ty Lee are coming with her, like always. I thought Zuko was gonna take that opportunity to explain his reasons, but no, he continues to leave her behind. And she's still defending him ? Like really, with actions, she's going against Azula ? That's SO great.
When Mai said "you miscalculated things", I think that Azula's heart broke for the first time : her not being in control of the situation ? And when she added "I love your brother more than I fear you", it finished her : her not being in control of someone ? And then Ty Lee⦠I think that it was the worst possible for Azula : she lost the two people she thought she controlled the more.

Iβve been waiting so long for this reaction π€©. I thought the way you described the relationship beteeen Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee here and in The Beach was interesting. I always thought that Mai and Ty Lee weβre friends first, and then Azula just butted herself in. It was never a genuine friendship, and itβs never been more obvious than in this episode. I will always admire the bravery of these girls for standing up to a very dangerous bully. And now, Iβm very excited to see the next episode π"

2021-06-24 17:09:47 +0000 UTCI like watching different reactors in part because occasionally they'll notice something I hadn't just watching myself. I never realized the connection between Zuko's first attempt at giving Sokka advice ("eat the silver sandwich") when he was trying to imitate his Uncle's style and didn't work out so well, and his second, convincing Sokka to not give up on resucing his dad, using his own voice, which actually worked! Just to add two small things I did notice myself (only after several re-watches) that I found interesting: the guard that Chit Sang identifies as the "mastermind" (in place of Sokka) is the same guard that picked a fight with him and got him sent to the cooler in Part 1. Chit Sang is actually pretty smart - certainly got his revenge on that guard. Also, Zuko uses the "breath of fire" technique to keep warm while he's in the cooler - the same one that Iroh told him to use during the Season 1 finale to help him survive the cold at the North Pole. Iroh really was all over this episode, just in the form of Zuko!
