Hello !

They fought into a bar and they attacked a train ? Don't even try to make me think the contrary : I'm watching a western show. Ok, the action is in the future, in space, with ships and all, but all of the DNA of the show, the pictures, the musics, the actions, the lights, are screaming WESTERN. And I love that : the mix between these two moods that you can think so opposite is in fact really well done here, because they are going fully with it, it's not too much, it's not "not enough".

For the characters, I'm beginning to see some contradictions between actions and real opinions : like Jayne and Mal who are saying that they don't care about the other ones and they are just doing their jobs, but in fact we can see that they care, they are involving themselves. Kaylee is definitely my favorite character, I love some relationships, I'm making theories… You know me, it's good signs here.

I'm still french, so I'm still sorry if my english hurts you.

I do adore this show.

Hello ! Yes, I said it during my bingewatching of The Mandalorian and since the beginning of it, they tried to create a western mood into a Star Wars universe. But in The Mandalorian, it's a mood, it's for the first episodes of each season but the rest of the time they're still following SW rules for the writing/filming/production when here with Firefly, they totally obey to rules of a western with the lights, musics but also lines and actions (attack of a train, battle in a bar etc), ways of filming it. And even more, The Mandalorian is taking sometimes moods in other genre of movies, like the episode which which was really playing with "Crouching tiger, hidden dragon" rules, with the pictures composition, the fights etc.

Space Westerns are sadly underrepresented i movies or shows, I recommend Cowboy Bebop if you are interested in the aesthetic (might be a bit heavy for reaction tho). But the genre certainly influenced some of the best known sci-fi like Star Wars (in fact, I would say Mandalorian is pretty much a Space Western in and of itself)
