I kept that first reaction/moment I had, during the review, just to show you how much this episode left me. No, Zuko can't die. Not after everything he lived, he suffered, not after all of this journey to find himself and his destiny, not after being reunited with Iroh and finding his place in this world. No. Azula's scenes during this episode were truly amazing, to put these deep messages here, at the end, it's so good.
When it happened, I didn't understand why Aang didn't redirect the lightening on Ozai. I mean, I know, I saw also Ozai's eyes, that fear, and I know Aang, but I thought so much that this move was gonna be THE move and that the Avatar's destiny was to kill him (and for Aang to let him the place to do it).

2021-07-08 03:03:15 +0000 UTCI swear, I love everything about the final battles, but if there was something I wanted more of, I wanted to see the old masters kick more ass. Specifically Piandao. I know it's a kid's show, which is why they didn't have Piandao loping off heads and arms during his sequence with Pakku, but in choosing to make him disarm the soldiers instead of killing them just gives him more badass potential. Gives me Rurouni Kenshin vibes.

2021-07-07 22:54:48 +0000 UTC100% agree. There have been times during one of my rewatches where I just made it a point to watch the agni kai as a whole by skipping Aang v Ozai. Shit, there have been times when I loaded up the episode *just* to watch that fight. So good.

I think it might be the most beautiful and perfectly executed sequence in all of Avatar and Korra to the point that I get annoyed every time when they cut away from Zuko and Azula to show Aang and Ozai. In that moment I don't care about Aang and Ozai.
