2h30 of a movie, a cult one, with so many great moments and characters, of course it was gonna be difficult for me to edit it. So for this extended reaction part on patreon, take something to drink and eat ! I loved this movie, I'm so glad you chose it guys. I love that kind of mood and characters, I really had the impression to be back watching The Sopranos.
I liked Henry but even more Karen, she stayed all along, she was brave and smart. And don't ask me why but I was on Paulie's side : Henry should have not followed Jimmy, it was the wrong horse since the beginning (the plan was to count on Crazy Tommy ? Of course it was not gonna work). Paulie was a spiritual father, made you evolve and you're lying to him, betraying him ? I appreciated the end, realistic, but a part of me wanted maybe something darker.

Hello ! I know, I understand his evolution, it's logical, but maybe I'm too loyal and I like too much the "old mafia mood" in movies/shows, and that's why I would prefer Paulie. Joe Pesci was incredible here, I totally forget him in just two scenes, I watched Tommy story, not Joe Pesci playing a mafiosa story. Sooo cool.

2021-07-30 09:10:23 +0000 UTCYeah, Henry really should've just listened to Paulie. But at the same time, I feel like it makes sense that he didn't. Mostly because he's always been fascinated that the gangsters could get away with anything. So when he finally became one, he probably started feeling like he could be the same, doing whatever he wanted with no consequences. Joe Pesci/Tommy was one my favorite parts of this movie. Him playing a psychopath was just f-ing terrifying. It was obvious that he was going to kill people, but you never really knew when he was going to do it until he finally did it. Gold. Loved it.
