Hello !

With the Serenity episode, I think this one is one of my favorite so far. I felt really the tension during the action moments, we had the return of an old enemy who can become in fact one of the biggest one, each character had a time to shine and to show an aspect of his/her personality, what they did to Mal really put a different mood… I loved it.

Jayne proving his loyalty by giving money to save the guys (wow !) and then being a part of the rescue team, Simon accepting to take a gun and shoot people, the Sheperd showing how good he is with a gun, Wash and Zoe couple having some issues, Kaylee not being able to shoot anyone because she's so pure, River being a fucking badass… I loved it !

I'm still french, so I'm still sorry if my english hurts you.

I actually feel the same as Kaylee about River here (especially if it was actually happening to me). Watching some one gun down three people with their eyes closed, then smile at you and repeat a funny line that you said to them earlier when you were playing... that's a tad psychopathy in my book.

The bible is fuzzy about kneecaps. Shepard Book is my least favorite character, but that line was gold. I like the more subtle type of continuity between episodes. Like how Jayne bought apples for everyone. It's a detail that's in the background that, without the previous episode, would have made no sense given his character. But because it's directly after his betrayal, it's more likely that he did so as a way of atonement or to better illustrate his desire to stay with this crew. I think Kaylee was more shocked that River was able to do what she did. It likely clashed with how she perceived River that now Kaylee is more wary of her. Which is unfortunate for River. I really love the show's humor, but my favorite part of the episode still has to be the final scene where Mal and Zoe show all the "sexual tension" that was between them. Wash being jealous was such an interesting point of conflict for me when I first watched this as, like you, I never saw that "sexual tension" between them. I'm glad they were able to use that angle without making it seem forced or without actually having sexual tension between them. I'm just thankful there was no love triangle. -_-
