THE LEGEND OF KORRA 1X09 FULL REACTION

FULL REACTION PART, TWO WEEKS SOONER, NO ADDS

Hello !

Me during the intro : ok, so I cried already during the last episode, during this one I don't want to cry so no flashbacks, nothing that can make me sad or mad, ok ?

Me during the episode : 4 FUC**ING BREAKS BECAUSE I CAN'T CONCENTRATE BECAUSE I'M CRYING TOO MUCH.

We finally had the responses concerning these flashbacks : Yakone was Tarlock's dad, and not Amon's one. He was a bloodbender and taught it to his son, they didn't need the full moon, but Amon took out his bending. Korra managed to escape, and she had a sweet moment with Mako but I'm still conflicted here : I ship them but the disrespect for Asami is so high that I'm on her side at the end.

I'm still french, so I'm still sorry if my english hurts you.

This was a stressful episode 😅. We are closing in on the finale. I honestly don’t remember what happens next episode, just the final one. But I’m excited for them anyway! For some reason, I never made the connection between bloodbending and the Cruciatus curse. See? We learn something new every day 😂 Asami really deserves better…I feel bad. It’s one bad event after another for her.

i felt like it became darker because they evolved the technique to not depend on the full moon. the only reason hamma and katara were able to do that before was because the full moon boosted their powers, but without the full moon, yakone needed to rely on brute force bending. which is probably why it looks and sounds more painful.

I think someone said it in the replies to the last episode, but the bloodbending does feel a lot darker in LoK compared to AtLA. When Hama did it to Sokka and Aang, I don't think they really felt any pain at all - they were just being controlled. But every time both Yakone and Tarrlock do it, there's a lot of pain involved. To use Laura's analogy (which I liked), sorta Crucio vs. Imperio. I wonder if it has something to do with it not being a full moon - maybe they don't have quite the same amount of control over it, which makes it hurt a lot more. Or maybe its just purposeful on their part, IDK. The part with Aang though is one of the most gruesome of the whole show IMO, though. I never really thought it would kill him, but there are a lot of moments in this show where something happens that makes you think "Geesh, if they got hit by a rock that big IRL, they'd be dead" and this is definitely one of those.
