The looks that Negan and Maggie are giving to each other are saying more than their "officiel cooperation" here : they worked together on that particular case, to survive, but they still have a dead-or-alive issue to resolve. All of the part with Daryl might seem unnecessary but it's the opposite in my opinion : at the beginning of the final season, he visited a place representing all of what the old world was, and it can be even more interesting because the Commonwealth is living according to the old system.
About them, I'm glad that our guys passed the test and even more by how they did it, being themselves. And yes, it includes for me Eugene who acted crazy and said things which can be humiliating, just to make them believe his lies. I can not wait to discover more about Stephanie, just to be sure we can trust her.
