It really hurt me to see Lin being so weak here and also so lost. Discovering these memories with her sister helped me to understand her position, and I was on her side for most of it : yes, her sister did something wrong, she was right to arrest her but Toph's solution was good and Lin was too strict and stubborn for accepting it. But these marks on her face… I can understand that, all of her life, she had to have on her face the mark of her sister's "betrayal", of course her anger was deep.
But at the end, to have the two of them reconcile, in front of Toph's statue… Of course, I was gonna have some tears. For Zaheer's story here, I found it less interesting and a little weird : so he wants revenge and to do things against the White Lotus, the Avatar but also the President ? And it was so easy to enter into the city but so hard to get out ? I don't know, it seems weird.

Hello ! I understand your opinion and I can agree with it, but right there I was seeing the scene as a family situation more than as analyzing it like a justice situation. Because it was Lin's memories and for her, it was really about her relationship with Su, with her mother also.

2021-11-04 07:38:10 +0000 UTCI'm going to have to disagree with you about Toph's solution. Suyin committed robbery, led police on a high speed chase, resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer. Lin might have been strict but Toph essentially decided that committing crime is fine as long as you are a family member of Republic City's elite. I love Toph, it's a shame she ended up being a corrupt cop.

I'm really bad at recognizing the voices, it's pretty clear now, so thanks for the info 😊I had that thought about Lin being jealous maybe of Su because of her family, because during a few moments in previous seasons I had the impression that she felt lonely, we have also the story with Tenzin... I don't know, I felt it like that, like she followed Toph's steps and consecrated her life to her job, but it was maybe not by choice ? I don't know. I don't think at all that it's out of Toph's character to become a cop : with the group, they had a lot of responsibilities and she had strong values and a personality which can impose respect.

I’m glad that you saw the transition in Lin’s eyes from Su to Korra. I’m 100% sure this is why Lin didn’t like her at first. She reminded her too much of her sister. Love the flashbacks we saw in this episodes so much! We learned a lot in a short time 😁 I thought it was interesting that you had theory of Lin being jealous of Su having a big family. It is not confirmed, but pretty much everyone agrees that the reason Lin and Tenzin broke up is because she couldn’t have or didn’t want kids. A lot of fans think that Toph becoming a cop was out of character, but I always thought it made perfect sense. What didn’t make sense to me was her reaction to what Su did. Since when did she care so much about what other people thought 😵💫? That was a huge jump in personality to me.
