"Practice" : Best way to improve yet "Useless" for advice.
Added 2022-05-22 03:03:44 +0000 UTC(This article is my personal believe. There's no paper or evidence supports)
"If you want to ged gut, practice a lot"
"Want to get better in Math?, Practice will make you clever"
"Practice a lot, draw a lot, you'll become a good artist."
"Practice, Practice, Practice"
I'm so bored with this word when I ask for advice how to improve my skill and knowledge. The one who say " practice" mostly don't know what made themselves good. So they can't teach others. Don't be fooled with this word.
So what exactly this word means to me...(personal opinion)
Practice : To repeat doing something that you already knew the method and knew exactly why it works until you can do it better and faster.
Because it comes with methods and reasons. So the real question you need to ask is
"Why this practice works?" NOT "How should I practice?"
Every lessons have "Micro steps" in it. But Teacher, Mentor, Instructor might not know it exists because it already became their second nature without realizing it's there. Practice is the best way to "Acquire" those missing steps automatically yet randomly. To acquire it better, you have to know they're really there.
"Practice makes perfect, only if you knew exactly what you're doing"

There're many subcategories, such as...
1. Skill practice : You knew exactly what to do, But your body doesn't respond as you wish for. Practice makes your body and brain stronger and respond better. (Sport, Art, Performing, Language, Remembering)
2. Logic practice : Stacked knowledges, Chained logic, Remember the sequences or method, Remember the relation between cause and effect, Practice will make you able to join the unrelated information and build a sequence faster, grouping ideas and remember it better. (Math, Scientific method, Coding, Managing)
3. Mental practice : Speaking in front of audience, Acting, Social managing, Behavior control, Emotion management. etc. These practice is focusing on mental training by simulating and repeating the scenario in your head or mocking up the scene. Practice makes you feel calm, no panic, and able to control emotion not to overcome the logic. That includes changing habits too. (Acting, Performing, Public presentation, Politic, Laws, Doctoring)
4. and more fields I might not know... if you know anything, feel free to teach me in the comment below.
