I usually find meta aspectsindicate that writers have given up on quality and are trying to protect their egos from the upcoming crappy writing. However, the way you wrote it into the story was excellent. It all supports the plot and characters involved and still gives access to the fun of stylized characters looking at stylized pictures of themselves. Well done!
