[#WSWF] MEGA CREW MISSION (메가 크루 미션 글로벌 대중 평가) ALL CREWS

Comments

Everyone did so well in their mega crews. My favorites were definitely Motiv, Ojogang, and Bumsup. Ojo and Bumsup were the only two that really gave me the Mega crew that I was looking for I could see them take 1st and 2nd place but with how different this seasons megacrews are in general I can’t imagine how they’re going to score these. AG felt a little lackluster compared to the others but I think that was just editing and filming choices. Their high angle section also felt a little messy but overall cool video and I like how they used the natural background but I think they needed more dancers to justify the huge space they were in, specifically at the beach outro scenes. RHTokyos was very cool, it was just enjoyable to watch and the concept was really fun. It made me want to dance along to it but it felt more like a music video than it did a mega crew. Motiv’s was so good! It was art and as an American from a family of immigrants it definitely made me emotional. I do wish they would have included more mega crew sections within the video so in my own personal criteria I’d have to knock some points off for that, everything just felt very close up and i kept wanting the video to pan out so I could see everything. Bumsup high angle section was insane! It was so clean and it just felt so satisfying to watch. The head iso part was also great and so eerie, it gave me chills, I loved it. Ojo gang’s energy in theirs was amazing! The light sticks usage was so fun and I was shocked at how clean but energetic they kept everything. My only issue with theirs is I wish the Twice section was more integrated or was maybe in a different location or in a color scheme that matches the other colorful sections but that’s more preference than anything. Overall with my personal criteria for the competition being 1.did it megacrew? 2. High angle insanity and 3. Did all the sections mesh well?, my order would be Bumsup, Ojo, Motiv, RHTokyo, AG squad. Out of my personal preference of what I just wanted to watch over again the order would be Motiv, RHTokyo, Bumsup, Ojo, AG.

I loved all the crews, but the way Motiv made me feel as a non-US native, being aware of what’s happening in the US (and honestly, in the world) made me appreciate Marlee’s creative mind even more. As a dancer, performances like this make me fall even deeper in love with the language of dance. Big one for Marlee and the entire Motiv crew❤️

Personally I think you'll really like Wolf'Lo's Yeni Cho's swf review (she also really loves the motiv) but I can't recommend it because there are no English subtitles..🥺

Bumsup, Motiv and Ojo had the best performances for me. Motiv's made me emotional, it was so good to see how Marlee was able to express the current situation in the US so well through this performance.

Bumsup, Ojo & Motiv were my favourites, in no particular order. The editing in some of the videos was bit excessive imo, you couldn't fully appreciate how the dancers worked together as a mega crew, or used creative transitions etc. Oh and Marlee's hair was so pretty in this it kept distracting me haha

Totally feel your thoughts here! Yes I am reacting to the full episodes! This one in particular will be lots of fun 😆

bumsup is definitely the one for me, although i loved all the videos. my thing is, i was really looking for mega, and bumsup gave me mega and a lot more lol. motiv's was so beautiful, specially in light of whats happening in the US right now, i just wish it had more of the mega aspect to it. for ojo's i enjoyed it, but i couldnt really understand the story or what they were trying to showcase, but i also love the mega aspect of it. rht and ag's felt more like music videos and not mega enough (also didnt love ag's high angle) for me. but overall, i loved all the videos, they did incredibly well!! also, side note, are you still reacting to the full episodes?

According to Hyojin Choi, who just appeared on Mina Myung's channel and reviewed it, he played the role of falling from the back of the first formation. There is no video insert and the subtitles are a little less readable, but it was good to hear the little experiences of Megacrew from deep n dab members.

Hahaha let them know yall got the flavor 🔥✨

As a weeb, I really loved Ojo Gang's segment where they did the Wotagei (the lightstick segment) - It's so nice to see them take something that's easily enjoyed by the general public as inspiration and modified it into such a synchronized dance! Who knew that us otakus had the potential to form megacrews too 😂 EDIT: oh my god I knew I wasn't tweaking out when Motiv's megacrew gave me Kendrick Lamar superbowl performance flashbacks! 🤣 I'm not an American but I very much appreciated the imagery and message behind the performance.

I realize why for me Motiv and Bumsup are Top 2 in this challenge. Bumsup was just great and then Motiv understood all the aspects of the challenge. Even though street dance and hip hop started in the US, I still think the other teams could have done a bit more in utilizing their cultures past location or costumes. It would have been nice to either hear music from those places like RHTokyo did or incorporate some traditional dance. I think the lack of that (even with the music RHTokyo chose) made it feel like a bunch of just US dances but in different countries, if that makes any sense? It also probably doesn't help that whenever I did notice a different style outside of hip-hop or waacking, it was usually dancehall or afro... which still doesn't represent the teams here (and then would represent usa the best if we had to pick a team).

Ojo Gang and Bumsup are what I'm looking for

Not to dispute anything you said but just adding that Marlee directed and edited everything for Motiv herself as well.

I also want to say that looking at the credits, AG's seems to have been all done basically by one person (camera, editing, lighting, sfx etc), who's an independent videographer in Queensland. The catering and electrical work were done by Kaea/Ruthy's parents too 😭I think AG struggled because of location logistics like you said but also industry-wise Australia is not as built up in terms of dancing/videography compared to Korea, US, and Japan. Especially when they filmed in the Gold Coast, which is sort of like the equivalent of filming in Orlando compared to LA or NY (but a much much bigger difference).
