Oh and same when I auditioned for I-Land 2 (back when it was ACTUALLY global auditions) the Q&A paper they gave us specifically said we needed to have at least 20k on one platform. But honestly it didn't matter in the end they went with practically already famous participants...like 100k plus.

The Voice asks you in person during the call back but for American idol they have a "How many followers" question in the Q&A application. I always say "I wouldn't be on social media if I didn't HAVE to be" and that soooo true. The barrier of entry is so high nowadays for tv/talent shows it's a bit disappointing. It's about clout not talent.
