Bonus Base Plate download, January MECH Preview, and POLL for 2021 themes!
Added 2020-12-23 12:08:15 +0000 UTCHello Patrons,
We are now winding down Company operations until the new year so our staff can get some well-deserved rest! We can't guarantee speedy responses on Patreon or Discord until the new year. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Xmas/New Year BONUS DOWNLOAD - Gothic Void Base Plate
Anyone who is a Patron in either December or January can download the Gothic Void Base plate and cutters. This is two large flat plates in the Gothic Void style (one with battle damage) and a set of circle, square and Oval cutters which you can use to make your own custom bases . You can also use the plate to make a larger base for dioramas.
You can download the zip file here:

Password: SpaceShip
Link valid until January 30th.
In the new year we will create a tutorial video showing you exactly how to make bases using Blender, which is free CAD software.
January LIGHT MECH Preview and more Info
Lots of you will have participated in the polls and be aware that next month contains a single "miniature" standing approx 85mm tall!
I (Joel, Creative Director) am handling the entire Light Mech Project myself to give the CAD team some breathing room over the holidays. This, combined with the Christmas Break and the complexity of the project, means delivery of the download is likely to be around the middle of January.
Here are some Work-In-Progress renders showing the model as it currently is. I don't like sharing renders this early, because it's extremely unfinished and clunky looking, but this gives a rough idea of the direction of the project and the eventual size/proportions.

This is the version with arms (and a rifle style gun) but it will also be possible to construct with the weapons mounted directly on the chassis.

The finished mech will feature:
- 50+ separate components
- Many optional and alternative components, allowing different styles of build
- Fully detailed interior cockpit and pilot (visible when built with the "open roll cage" option)
- At least 4 different weapons
- Supplied as both pre posed and pre supported "easy print" STL's AND a file which can be opened in Blender, featuring a fully rigged and re-poseable version of the Mech.
- Tutorial Video showing you how to use Blender (Free CAD software) to repose the legs and arms, swap in optional components and export the resulting model for printing.
POLL : Theme Ideas for 2021
We have a few months next year reserved for things we already know we want to do, but a majority of month slots will be chosen with your feedback!
We asked on Discord last week for your suggestions and had a LOT of great ideas put forward.
We've selected a few which we particularly like and which fit well with our existing product range, and now it's your chance to vote!
- January: Light Mech
- February: Over the Top 2
- March onward: Vote now!
https://forms.gle/qJNZuiPjTfU1MSYv8
Please submit just ONE response to the survey.
Finally, we would like to take an opportunity to thank all our patrons for your support this year!
Without your support, it would have been very difficult to continue funding the design and development of new miniatures through the pandemic and lockdowns, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
We have lots of exciting plans for 2021, including the start of resin releases for our prior digital miniatures!
We hope you and your families stay safe and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

2020-12-31 15:49:45 +0000 UTCFirefly style minis. Hell yeah!
2020-12-29 12:43:32 +0000 UTCI think the concept of us able to use blender to change poses and put together options for the miniature is revolutionary and crazy cool. If that robot one goes live..... Im not certain I will ever leave my computer mashing up different builds.

2020-12-24 22:27:28 +0000 UTCThe Droid kit sounds really interesting and the Blender idea is fantastic as I have been 3D printing for a few months and have no idea how to use any of the 3D software beyond Chitubox.

2020-12-24 09:41:00 +0000 UTCLove the flexibility you are giving to the Mech! Can’t wait to try additional poses etc. I hope we do things like this in the future!

2020-12-24 01:12:42 +0000 UTCI'd like to see one month in the year dedicated to a hodge-podge set, a la your Bikers and Bits, providing additional cross-compatiblity among the previous year's sets.

2020-12-23 18:28:18 +0000 UTCI love the idea of the blender tutorial as long as I can download it and work with it later. Unfortunately, my pc is working great for 98% of all programs, but DAW and Unity new installs aren't working, and neither is Blender or other new 3d editing software not on my pc already. I've got chitubox and the photon program for my printer, but not Blender yet. I'm in the middle of writing my second book and revising my first, so I don't want to take the days to reinstall the OS right now, nor will I have the time till probably February or later. As for the poll, not interested in the cavalry at all. I really like the drone one, the more options the better.. I might be okay with the space western with more details about it... I love Trigun, iffy on Firefly, and Star Wars (more wandering ronin + The Wizard of Oz) and Guardians of the Galaxy (mostly comedic cosmic superhero) aren't really traditional space westerns despite some elements of that, despite what Wikipedia says, and I don't like traditional historical westerns, and didn't like Cowboy Bebop. John Carter of Mars is also listed on the wikipedia, and I really like that, though it is less space western than science fantasy. So, more leaning toward not if it is leaning more heavily on the western side than the space side of a space western. Really, really want the xenos/alien regiment, the more options the better! I love the desert nomads idea, especially if it leans into more exotic cultural design elements instead of more western troops that have a tiny bit of adaption for a desert. Dune is kinda iffy on that. Star Wars actually excels at this, even though it also has Stormtroopers who are more the barely adapted type. It does, however, have the Tusken Raiders, Jawas, and assorted other residents of Tatooine. Not up for the feudal world infantry as described. Seems too much like fantasy but with sci-fi guns, but without any context for why. A very good example that works with this concept might be the Predator franchise, as there is definitely a reason for their stuff being the way it is. If it were described like that, yes, a thousand times yes, but on the fence as a result. Absolutely no interest in the Hoplite one. I by and large prefer alien sci fi elements to have a blend of multiple cultures to the point it isn't obvious what it is, and just see so much Greek and Roman influence in fantasy sets that I definitely don't want a sci fi set with it. Anyway, personal opinions and feedback, as well as why I voted what I did.

2020-12-23 15:17:05 +0000 UTCThis is a "T" pose, or rather it's not a pose at all. It won't be like that when complete

2020-12-23 14:13:14 +0000 UTCThanks for the great year guys! Looking at the mech, love the direction. Looks unstable when standing straight. Consider the upper leg on an angle when at the attention stance like in the render. Currently she looks like she would frequently fall forward 😉
