Not to speak heresy, but I think this is almost "Airplane" level humor. Of course they do resort to SO many non TV friendly tropes, which makes it not so universally funny. But if one doesn't mind a certain degree of crassness. . . So I think we've pretty much homed in on Ames' sweet spot in that regard.
